Andy Stumpf is an amazing friend, a Navy SEAL, adrenaline junky and my hunting bro. Andy and I sit down for a podcast to have some laughs and talk about an amazing experience we are doing this week! We have teamed up with Helping Heroes Foundation to create an extraordinary opportunity!!! We are hosting an exclusive raffle where the lucky winner will take home a custom bow AND If you're a 30 percent disabled veteran, the prize includes more than just a bow – it's an invitation to an unforgettable Iowa whitetail deer hunt. And if you're not a veteran, fear not. You can still be a part of the raffle by nominating a deserving veteran to receive this once-in-a-lifetime experience, but you get the bow either way. Tune in this podcast and Andy’s cleared hot podcast from April 12th to discover how you can contribute to this worthy cause and stand alongside us, and the Helping Heroes Foundation as they strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who've served our country with honor and courage. In this podcast I sit down with an Iowa farmer who I recently visited while looking for new spots to hunt with LandTrust. After driving around with him and listening to his story I wanted to do a podcast from a landowners perspective who is offering daily hunts through Land Trust which is like the “AirBnb” for hunting/recreation land. I get asked often about “how and where“ I hunt and LandTrust has opened the door for DIY private land hunting opportunities. This is an amazing new tool that new hunters and veteran hunters can use to find new spots in new areas.
In this podcast I sit down and discuss the new T2 head that I know is about to make serious waves in the bowhunting industry. This is a wicked new mechanical that has shown me some insane results. I sit down with Nate Grace, Brian Andersen and Jeff Helm to discuss the concept to creation and where we stand after a final hunt using production heads. We dive into the what’s, the why’s and the where’s to this new broadhead that proves consistency is found in simplicity!
The Podcast is back as we kick off “TAC” season. I sit down with Sean Degrey and talk with him about this years plans for TAC, ALL NEW VENUES that are not announced yet and what you all should expect on the ranges this year.
This podcast is with Dr Peter Attia who is a physician known for his expertise in researching life extension and enhancing people's overall health. Dr Attia is a passionate archer and bow hunter who is super fascinating about his attention to details when he has a successful hunt. He talks about vitals, fatality and what it takes for a clean ethical arrow to an animal. I hope you enjoy!
This podcast is one that I personally was really hoping for. I was lucky enough to get Joel Maxfield on for his first podcast. Full disclosure, Joel is one of my personal mentors in bowhunting. He began working for MATT McPherson as a youngster with McPherson archery and then became the first employee of Mathew’s and ultimately my boss there during my time. Much of my base in archery came from watching Joel and Matt in the bow labs and experimenting with the founding teams there. Joel has a hunting resume that is far to long to write. I’ve never met someone more serious and dedicated to bowhunting and archery than Joel. He loves the industry, loves the dealers and loves professional archery. He has a Grand Slam in archery and the Super Slam in archery. He shoots a compound and traditional gear. His wife Janice is an extremely successful short draw low poundage archer also having success on most species around the globe. His experience and curiosity goes deeper than anyone I know of when it comes to real life application of arrows and animals. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
This podcast is with Troy Fowler who many people claim is behind the charge in heavy arrow/FOC & penetration debates. After my recent arrow series “truth about arrows” Troy reached out to discuss some of these topics with me. Although many in the industry have found certain subjects or comments from Troy to be abrasive, I told him I would certainly like to talk more on the topics. I also wanted to understand his background because in the end, all I want is for archers to maximize their abilities and some of the “extremes” just don’t translate to accuracy and tuning.    Going into this podcast I didn’t know much about Troy’s background and wanted first hand information from him about some of the arrow opinions he has. We navigated our first long conversation together while he told me his side of curiosity and I explained my theories based on my experiences on the range and in the field. Although some of Troy’s post and comments within the archery community isn’t from the high ground I think he could choose to take, it becomes clear it’s part of what makes him who he is. Troy has made a few comments to me about the appreciation he has for some of the information I have shared and will lead him down some new paths. I like where we left off and hope I can be of help more if asked but also want to do what’s is possible to make sure the industry moves forward, TOGETHER for the betterment of all those who choose life with a bow.
This podcast is with Bill from Ironwill Outfitters. We dove deeper into the arrow topics and where his latest testing has led. I enjoyed an open minded talk about the fixed blade/mechanical broadhead debate. I also questioned the depth of the testing he has done so far and give a little insight on the topic too playing the devils advocate. We also question some important topics the archery needs to know. This is such a great talk regardless of whether you are a mechanical or fixed blade broadhead supporter OR if you want o hear more on the debate of FOC focus vs Accuracy Focus.
In this podcast, I get on a call with Wayne Endicott from the Bow Rack. He’s a legend in the archery shop world and I find out how long ago I was in Wayne’s shop. We talk arrows, bow set up, arrow tuning, steel cables, living out of a Tacoma and slinging arrows.
Podcast 336 on a critical subject about the Feds taking funding away from schools who involve National Archery in the Schools and also Hunters education! This nock on podcast 336 gives you direct insight from Dan Forster who is on the frontlines of this fight! PLEASE LISTEN & PLEASE TAKE ACTION AT THE FOLLOWING LINK! https://actionalerts.archerytrade.org/a/keep-archery-in-schools
LEGIT TUNING TALK! Darin Cooper is an incredible archery talent both behind the scenes and in the field. Darin worked for HOYT for over a decade and has published articles in tons of Bowhunting publications and been included in some leading archery tuning books. In this podcast Darin and I discuss what makes you the most accurate on the range and in the field! We talk arrow builds, tuning, archery set up process, bow efficiency and tons more! (Video podcast available at NockOnArchery YouTube)
Dr. James Park is one of the Worlds leading sources of scientific research on arrow flight. Dr. Park has been awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering by Monash University in Melbourne, Australia and has 31 published research papers to prove it. His PhD work was dedicated to arrow dynamics and a lifelong study that covered the behavior of arrows during the bow’s power stroke and in free flight. He placed particular emphasis on compound bows, but much of the work is also directly applicable to recurve bows. James Park was a mentor of mine since i was first shooting for the U.S. Team. I stayed with James, studied with him and he was able to collect data from my shooting methods that actually predated where we were at in understanding it. James witnessed me break multiple records and win multiple gold medals internationally. He used some of the collected data and information with robotics and wind tunnels to make him an impressive coach for the Australian National Team. He is one of the few sources that I would report my personal most trusted data to. He is a real life projectile wizard and has done more arrow study with a shooting machine that anyone you can find on the internet, i guarantee it. I hope you enjoy this podcast and understand that through our trusted information you will improve in archery. Don’t get trapped in the arrow wormhole. This podcast can give you more than a lifetime of understanding in a few hours.
In this “Swap Cast” episode, I sit down with Wade Grinager, the host the Archery Podcast, to discuss some in-depth history with different bow brands, set up, tuning, and what he learned through an experience here at Nock ON HQ. We touch on how archery shops play a key roll in making the archery experience easier and better for people when a shop has a wide selection of equipment and staff that are truly passionate about archery. Wade, who is an avid archer and bow technician, job shadowed me for a day and got a behind the scenes view on what I’m passionate about and our mission here at Nock On. Wade’s experience here led us to a talk about some different brands and ultimately how and why we choose the brands/dealers we decide to work with. We also talk about how there are certain brands that make the archery/hunting/outdoor experience better for those wanting to experience it. This is an awesome podcast with two local residents and Nock On Nation members who are at the early stages of becoming a bowhunters. Joe Wickemeyer and Tony Vizcarra are both awesome everyday guys that have grown to love archery and bowhunting. They are self taught and starting to navigate booking their own hunts and getting new experiences as the broaden their interest. Prior to season I wanted to sit down and connect them with the new LandTrust website (an AirBnB style app to hunt private lands DIY for affordable cost) They have absolutely loved the ease to see new areas and had great experiences. For this podcast we sit down to talk about how they got into archery, the learning curves, getting over some hurdles and their takeaways from their first western hunts. I would encourage you to visit the LandTrust website to see first hand what we like so much about it. here’s the link https://landtrust.com/

As a saddle hunter, the reason for knee pads are so you sit down in the saddle and place your knees against the tree. When you see an animal approaching, you simply stand up and shorten your tether and move around the tree.

Thanks for doing what you do, and sharing it all with us! I really appreciate how technical and detailed your explanations are. Great analogies and comparisons which make visualization for podcast listeners much easier. I love hearing the story of how Randy was watching you, and got you turned onto the tension releases. I heard about you on Rogan's podcast, and you have stolen my attention for the time being😉 I decided to go back to your first podcast, and listen in order from the beginning. You have created a lifelong follower, and I have told several people about you. Thanks again for doing what you do! I'm really excited to be going on this journey of becoming a better, and more serious Archer💘💘💘
