This is the final episode of this 3-part series. Paul admonishes Philemon to do the right thing towards his slave Onesimus. In Christ, we are all one, different but without distinction.

David and Yasmin continue their discussion about Paul’s letter to Philemon with a detour to the book of Ephesians 6:5-9. This adds more perspective to the message Paul is giving to Philemon about Onesimus, the slave.

David and Yasmin provide insights to the Letter from Paul to Philemon. This episode discusses verses 1-13. Philemon is a very short book in the New Testament that shares a very important lesson about our societal relationships.

The word "culture" is buzzing around in our society today.  Culture defined is an informal system by which societies organize. In this episode, Dr. David and Yasmin address how culture has played out in the Bible during the Old and New Testaments.  God used culture in the Old Testament to help insulate His chosen people, to set them apart for His service, and from the evil people surrounding them.  In the New Testament, in the Book of Acts, once salvation was made available for all, we see God pulling back the walls of separation created by culture to bring people together into one body of believers.  He removed the division between Jews and Gentiles and other ethnicities, people who were sick and disabled, and rich and poor...all these divisions had been supported by cultural standards. Culture can create an environment where people will see symbols that convey different meanings to them based on their own cultural views.  These views often conflict. God has called His Church to be one family with no divisions.

Sarah heard the prophesy by one of the visitors that she would bear a son in one year. Her initial response brought a chuckle, although later, it clearly was not funny based on the LORD’s final response.

A great story that shows how even though the grass may look and be greener on the other side, it may not be the best place for you.
