Description

Have you ever wondered "What is a Viking?", "Were Vikings tattooed?" or "Did they ever REALLY use the Blood Eagle? If so, then this is the right podcast for YOU.

In this podcast, follow along Daniel Farrand's (Owner of Horns of Odin) journey as he tries to make sense of the complex history of the Viking Age and Nordic Mythology, through easy to digest, funny, natural (and often very honest) conversations.

Daniel is joined by Co-Host (and in house archaeologist) Margrethe Havgar, as the pair are joined by a host of guests; which include world leading scholars and Viking Age creators, to world renowned musicians and movie stars.

So, if you've ever asked "Were Runes used for magic?" or "is Thor REALLY the only person who can lift his hammer?". We'll definitely have an episode on it

But be prepared to be told, "It's Complicated."

The amount of times that the guest says "um" and "erm" is really distracting, consists of half of her vocabulary....(literally she says "erm" 5x per statement and at times is used every other word), and makes me honestly wonder if she is a solid source of information because it seems like she is hesitant on either remembering the history or she is conflicted and not thinking clearly. Super distracting. Maybe she should listen to herself in a recording. It is awkward and cringe.

Hi amazing podcast, I just saw the ep 12 about Ragnarok, and I have a question ... Who is Vidarr? I saw on the internet that he participates in the battle and he kills the wolf (revenge for having eaten Odin).

Thank you so much for creating this podcast with someone who is a professional in this field! Majority of my ancestors are from Scandinavia and I've been extremely interested in what their way of life and their religion was before Christianity arrived and even what they did to still practice the religion while Christianity was taking over. Thank you!
