In this episode, we review the FetCB by Analog Obsession. Guess what? It's free! We like to take time out and give back good-quality hardware that doesn't break the bank. But don't take our word for it. Check it out yourself. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this.
In this episode, we are going to review the free plugin, Warmy EP1A by Kiive Audio. This tube EQ is a great addition to your mix bus. It can eliminate the need for multiple saturation plugins at the end of your mix bus. We had a great time trying it out and think it's a keeper. But don't take our word for it. Check it out for yourself and see what you think!
In this episode, we explore a free VST plugin called XTMax by Kiive Audio. XTMax is a vintage analog compressor that is simply amazing. It adds warmth and character to any sound, and it's easy to use. We took a set of drums and ran them through XTMax, and in no time they sounded huge. If you're looking for a compressor that can add warmth and punch to your tracks, XTMax is definitely worth checking out.
In this episode of "Not Just Music," Duan shares the history and origins of the Fula Flute. Since it's an African instrument, it seemed only natural to incorporate it into this month's Black History Month topic. As Duan explains, the Fula Flute is traditionally played by Fula shepherds, who use it to communicate with each other over long distances. Duan demonstrates what the Fula Flute sounds like and shows us how to use it in music production. There are several interesting techniques he shares, such as how to get a "flute choir" effect. This is just part one, so stay tuned to see how the story unfolds.
Are you the type of person who struggles to apologize? Are you afraid of saying sorry? Do you think apologies are a weakness? If so, this might be your biggest weakness. I'm not sure I could be friends with someone who never apologizes. For me, the ability to own up to mistakes and say you're sorry is a sign of strength and maturity. If you have trouble saying you're sorry, that's okay. But it’s something that you should work on. So let's find out: what is your weakness? Is it apologizing?
I really hope you’ll tune in for this episode of our show, where we’re joined by Dr. Lisa Mozer! During the show, Dr. Mozer will share a lot of history about Statesville, North Carolina that many people may not know about. One of the big ones is the Greene St. Cemetery. Dr. Mozer is the only person you’ll find online speaking up about the cemetery and its significance. She also talks about running for write-in in the 84th House State Representative race. This is a big moment for the Statesville area, because not many African Americans have had a seat in politics there. So this will be epic to see happen for her. We hope you’ll check it out!
This week on Not Just Music Podcast, we’re shining a light on Scott’s Rosenwald School. The Rosenwald Schools were schools for black children in the late 1800s and early 1900s, when segregation was the law of the land. Scott’s Rosenwald was located in Iredell County, North Carolina, but there’s not a lot of history available about it. We still want to raise awareness about this important part of our past and hope that someone can come forward with more information. Our goal at Not Just Music Podcast is to preserve black history, and that means the most to us.
In this episode, we dive into the complex and often misunderstood topic of fatherhood and parenting. The history of the Black Father has been distorted and we're here to challenge that narrative. One thing we know for sure is that there's still time to course correct. We will discuss the good and the bad of fatherhood, with a focus on being better communicators and making sure we're always present in our children's lives. No more excuses, let's get to the real talk.
Did you know that Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States? Even though it’s a holiday celebrating freedom, many people don’t understand what it’s all about. We think we can change that by talking about Juneteenth and its significance. How can we help to educate and inform others about the holiday? What can we do to make sure that everyone understands the meaning of Juneteenth?
In this episode we go over some Olympic black history. The name is Vonetta Flowers and this multi-sport athlete did big things. Let's talk!
In this weeks episode we talk about a few different aspects of Black History of Pine Grove School. Education was a very big thing for African American. Now education is looked at as little or none at all. The key objective is to move the culture forward. If we never talk about any of the history that has unfolded, how will we know how far we've come? So let's talk.
Up next, Retreat Rosenwald School. There is still plenty of schools left to go through in this Rosenwald School journey. Let's talk!
