Description

Have you ever had to defend why what you said was not racist? You may want to do better or you may feel like “it’s not my problem.” Either way, this podcast is for you. Today we welcome Dr. Jamila Holcomb Ph.D. to educate us on the implications of racial trauma. She will describe how it occurs and what it looks like during a time of racial tension in the USA.
Today we welcome our first guest, Jarrett Fletcher M.A., a historian and history professor, who will explain the atrocities of slavery and the effects we still see today.
Let’s discuss how our unconscious mind tricks us into believing that we cannot be racist because we have Black friends, children, family, etc.
Let’s review definitions that are often misused and how they shape our view of racial dynamics.
How can you call me racist? You don’t know me!
