Description
Having trouble sleeping? Join Yoga and meditation teacher Kathryn Nicolai for bedtime stories where nothing much happens to help you relax and sleep peacefully. The stories are a soft landing spot for your mind. Rather than letting your brain race through the same thoughts you’ve been chasing all day, we are taking a detour to a calm and comfy place. We tell the story twice and go a bit slower the second time.

Our story tonight is called “Closing up shop” and it’s a story about a bookshop at the end of the day. Lev Grossman wrote in The Magician’s Land “It didn’t matter where you were, if you were in a room full of books you were at least halfway home.” If that feels true to you, then this story is for you. Beyond the friendliness of the company of books, this story is also about being in a safe place and looking out from it at one’s leisure, and about the lovely feeling of anticipating something nice.

Some of them don’t put me to sleep after a month of listening
Is this a repeat
I think the “re-leased” episodes r so you don’t have to scroll through them all
Why re-release this episode on a Thursday?!? Plus…the original is still available…
I never hear the end of the story. I keep trying to stay awake but it's impossible. Sometimes I fall asleep during the intro.😂
Why the repeats?
I've dabbled in sleep stories and sounds for a few years now but never found my *perfect* sleepy sound.. until now. These stories and her voice are so effective, that it's absolutely true what she says - it WILL get easier to fall asleep/fall asleep quicker the more you use the podcast. That's not only true, but after just a couple months use, sometimes I don't even make it through the introduction! Absolute lifesaver for having a newborn too and getting to sleep quickly when able to sleep!
Ya the first episode I was asleep in like 5min
This is the best sleep podcast ever. I never make it past 10 minutes into story. It's become part of my nighttime ritual. I hope she never stops making them lol
I am also a Lilac thief. Living in that old farmhouse among the lilacs would be a joy! Thank you for this lovely story. PS. I would plant some peonies and hydrangea as well 😊
Love your work, Kathryn Nicolai. It's 2:50 am and I know I can count on you. 😉
Happy Birthday NMH 🎂💕
It’s probably just me (not keen on cats) but I’m getting a bit bored of Marmalade…
I always think of you as Crum and Marmalades mom, had to listen twice to get things straight... but I was very sleepy 😴
👍👍👍
I really enjoy your sleeping stories.Thank you for making this🙏
