This week’s Parsha is Vayishlach! This week is Parshat Vayeitzei, tonight we follow Yaakov on his long and lonely journey through the desert. Under a sky filled with stars, Yaakov falls asleep and dreams the famous dream of a ladder reaching from earth to heaven, with shimmering angels traveling up and down. In this dream, Hashem promises to protect him, bless him, and guide him home. Yaakov then arrives in Charan, meets the kind and gentle Rachel at the well, works for Lavan, builds a family, and learns to trust Hashem. This Parsha reminds us that Hashem is always with us, even when we feel far away.
Tonight, we learn a beautiful lesson from the Baal Shem Tov and from a little girl named Sara: even on hard days, there is always something to say “Baruch Hashem” for. From spilled toothpaste to lost shoes, muddy papers and mix-ups, nothing feels right for Sara; until she learns to notice the quiet blessings hiding inside her day. With the Baal Shem Tov’s gentle wisdom, we discover how remembering Hashem, even in small, simple moments, fills our hearts with warmth, strength, and light.

This week’s parsha is Chayei Sarah, where we learn about the kindness, courage, and light that helped build the very first Jewish family. After Sarah Imeinu passes away, Avraham sends his trusted servant Eliezer on a long journey to find a special wife for Yitzchak; someone filled with goodness and love for Hashem. At a quiet well in Charan, Eliezer meets Rivkah, a young girl whose heart overflows with chesed. She offers water not only to him, but to all ten of his thirsty camels! Her kindness shines so brightly that the miracles of Sarah’s home return the moment she enters Yitzchak’s tent.
In the warm, golden sands of the Sahara Desert, Rabbi Masoud Alfassi chose to welcome Shabbat with calm faith, even when everyone around him was afraid. And then something incredible happened. A mighty lion appeared, but instead of danger… the lion became a guardian sent by Hashem. Join us tonight as we journey across desert dunes, ride on the back of a lion, and learn how courage and trust in Hashem can shine even in the most surprising places.
In this week’s Parsha, Avraham Avinu is not feeling so well and Hashem Himself comes to visit him. From this moment, we learn the beautiful mitzvah of Bikur Cholim; visiting and caring for someone who isn’t feeling well. When we show kindness, bring a smile, or sit beside someone who needs comfort, we are doing what Hashem did! We will also hear a very special story about the Alter Rebbe, who showed us that sometimes the greatest mitzvah is to step away from what we are doing and help someone in need. We too can do the same.
Have you ever met someone who seemed a little different, maybe quiet, messy, or hard to understand and still tried to be kind? Tonight’s story is about a man who did just that. Rabbi Eliezer and his wife didn’t have children, but they had the biggest hearts. Every Shabbos, their home was full of guests, poor, lonely, and hungry all welcome at their table. One Shabbos night, a strange guest arrived who tested Rabbi Eliezer’s kindness in a surprising way. What he discovered at the end was something no one could have imagined… that this guest was really Eliyahu HaNavi! Join us to hear how one act of kindness brought the greatest blessing, the birth of the Baal Shem Tov and how we, too, can open our hearts to others just like Avraham Avinu did.
