The book of Acts tells the radical story of how the earliest followers of Jesus lived with a revolutionary dependance on the Holy Spirit. Rather than seeking to be everything and do everything in their own strength, they created a Spirit-filled community - one where the power and presence of the Holy Spirit was central to everything they did. 2000 years later, the invitation for today's followers of Jesus is to do the same. This week, Lucy kicks off the series by looking at The Powerful Person of the Holy Spirit through Jesus' promise in Acts 1.
The miracles of Jesus are some of the most powerful and profound moments in his earthly ministry. But these weren't simple party tricks: they were an announcement that the Kingdom of God has arrived. Each one is a sign - a mini-version of something ultimate - which revealed the wonder of who Jesus is and all that he has done, is doing, and will do for all of creation. This week, Adrian concludes the series by looking at Jesus calming a storm.
