This September Okwu ID is offering a 4-week short course which will aim to teach you Igbo in a fun and relaxed way. FOR TICKETS VISIT: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/beginner-igbo-lessons-4-week-course-tickets-71229233555 Level: Beginner Dates: Every Saturday: 28th Sept - 19th Oct Time: 1pm - 3pm Ages: 16 - 35 The standalone classes will be centred around a single topic and students will be taught words, phrases and dialogue that can be used in everyday conversation. Topics include: WEEK 1: Greetings + Introductions WEEK 2: Family WEEK 3: Food WEEK 4: Travel Students will be given a chance to practice and develop skills focusing on listening and speaking (some reading and writing will be taught too!). Each class will feature a 10-15 min talk on aspects of Igbo culture ranging from the importance of the Oji (Kola Nut) to Igbo folklore.

Igbo is predominantly spoken in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi and parts of Rivers and Delta states. However, there are recent statistics which state that the language is in decline due to western ideals. Okwu ID aims to provide learning aids to those who wish to learn and keep the language alive.
