The Boston Fleet has some new faces joining the bench this season, including top draft pick Haley Winn. The Rochester native had an incredible career at Clarkson University, earning the ECAC Player of the Year honor and etching her name in the history books as the second highest-scoring defender in the nation. She comes to Boston with a strong hockey IQ and compete level. It's been quite the summer for KC Current defender Izzy Rodriguez! First, she earned her first cap, first start and first goal for the USWNT on the same day. Boston is building a new legacy: Boston Legacy FC! The 15th National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise will take the pitch in 2026. Head Coach Filipa Patão is excited for this new adventure here in the States and NWSL. Patão is a former player with many titles to her name before hanging up her cleats to coach. Mostly recently she managed Benfica and led the club to five consecutive league titles. Fail fast and fail often; failure is an essential part of growth and an important lesson Player Development Coach Kerri Kuzbyt teaches her athletes. Kerri played hoops for most of her life, even competing professionally, before switching to a coaching role in the past few years. She is now the head of player development for the Scottish Basketball Federation. Her modern coaching approach is unique and helps athletes find functional movement solutions effective for their body, build a resilient mindset, and strengthen court IQ. She wants her athletes to be curious, well-rounded, and confident and that can only come from making mistakes and growing from them. You see Trenni Casey most nights talking sports on "Early Edition with Trenni" on NBC Sports Boston, But, for the last 6 months, she has been spending her mornings,  and basically any time outside of the studio, training for her leg of "MS Run the US." The relay is America's first and only 3,260 mile ultra relay run to raise awareness and funds for MS research and aid those living with disabilities from the disease. Trenni's relay leg is just about 160 miles across her home state of Wisconsin. That's over a marathon a day! I have no doubt you've heard Jenn Hildreth's voice coming from your TV a time or two before. The award-winning sports broadcaster has quite the resume -- from calling FIFA World Cup matches since 2015, Olympic soccer matches, and MLS and NWSL games to play-by-play for a variety of collegiate sports. She's done it all while raising two daughters with her husband. When she realized just how incredible working moms are for the way they do it "all," she wanted to talk about it....so she did! Kendall Toole knows how to pack a punch when it comes to programming a workout! This comes as no surprise given the fitness pro has been moving in some form since she was young. First it helped to drain the energy tank as a kid, later it became a space to find mental clarity, and now it's her career. Sara Falkson is a Harvard engineer redesigning the sports bra and helping women find body confidence in sport. Why redesign the sports bra? As an athlete herself (4 years of field hockey at Dartmouth) she has had her own relationship with confidence and sports bra woes and learned that so many other women did too! So, in her second year of Harvard University's Masters of Design Engineering program she set out to create something that was more comfortable and allowed athletes to have confidence in their gear to focus on their sport. Sara is also inspired by a stat from Dove and Nike that nearly 50% of teen girls drop out of sports due to lack of body confidence. Mary Borman loves to swim, to challenge herself, to wear bright colors, share her story, and most importantly, have fun! The athlete, model. and Down Syndrome advocate has always challenged herself to accomplish what some may say she can't. Mary has earned several medals competing at the Special Olympics, traveled internationally to race for the Down Syndrome International Swimming Organization, and is now training to become the first woman with Down Syndrome to finish a half Ironman (race is in June 2025). When Becs Gentry isn't coaching you up on the Peloton app, she's likely chasing her big personal goals or her toddler daughter. Becs isd known for her speed and her spunk, but this is something she has grown into as she's found herself in the sport. After earning her 6th World Majors star in Toyko her partner planted the idea seed of the Great World Marathon (7 marathons, 7 days, 7 continents) -- this past fall she completed it as a way to fill her own cup in the new chapter of motherhood. She trained and competed in this challenge while still coaching millions on the Peloton app, showing up for her family and friends, and covering races as a commentator. It wasn't until Katie Lohaus' senior year of college that she found rugby, but it was love at first hit and she hasn't looked back. After playing competitive sports through high school, Katie went to college and joined a sorority where she dabbled in rec leagues and the Greek games. When she gave rugby a shot her senior year she was excited about how far she could run with it (figuratively and literally), so she went for it. Katie has played professionally for years, first as part of Premier Rugby Sevens and now the inaugural season of Women's Elite Rugby with the Boston Banshees. Nell Rojas is a FORCE on the Boston Marathon course. The Nike pro earned top American female finisher her first two races ('21 and  '22). She loves the grit and hills of the course (the opposite of most!) When Nell isn't running, she's coaching. She's coached for years, even before she decided to go pro at 30 years old. Now, she learns a lot from her dad who coaches her and guides her in developing her own coaching style. At 24 years old Jocelyn Rivas become the youngest woman and Latina to finish 100 marathons! Jocelyn set the goal to show the world what a 'Dreamer' looks like and show women and girls everywhere that they can do hard things. Hot off smashing her own U.S. masters marathon record at the Valencia Marathon in December (2024), Sara Hall is feeling good and ready to race her fourth Boston Marathon. Sara has been running professionally for 20 years and continues to love the challenges and wins that come with it.
