Description
Hosted by @bschultz808 of Street Legends Ink and Meltdown's @wedsfinest. The show is an irreverent (hard "R" rated) deep dive into cross-section of nerd and hip hop culture. We feature guests from the worlds of comics, animation, and of course hip hop music. Ultimately we just want to touch on topics interesting to hip hop "heads" who happen to nerd out like us.

We get music nerdy with DJ Smiles Davis. As a veteran DJ we talk about playing for women, music that moves and somehow we get deep on the relationship between Martha Stewart and Puffy Combs. We talk about some of her contemporary inspirations. Flying lotus, Frances and the lights, dancehall reggae tropical sounds.
Gems are dropped on the Coachella divide on Run the Jewels and Dj Khaled's top snaps
In Verseology:
B. Schultz chooses Rihanna's Desperado off Anti.
Rihanna is hiphop and the masculinity fallacy in contemporary music

We talk the REAL Black Friday when the week of police murders and racial strife came to a crescendo in the killings in Dallas of 5 police officers.
Raw, emotional and slightly faded, The homie @SaintChase and @robotpants just came in to vent --- we wound up going long to talk about the violent state of the union and clumsily put it in the context of Hip Hop music. 1hr or so in, we talk the raps of Krs-1, Cecil Otter, and Jay-Z's newest "Spiritual". In this episode we talk to west coast rap god, the pioneer of the drunken master style: mighty King Tee. He started in the eighties but captured the 90's with his opus known simply as Tha Triflin' Album which spoke of street life and partying but decidedly was NOT gangster rap even though he produced records for and shared studios with the likes of Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and DJ Quik.
Tee went on to co-found the group known as the Alkaholiks with Tash and J-ro and with a new radio venture and book in the works, we got a chance to catch up with the Ledge! We onsomehiphopshit.

In this episode Brando Calrissian and Wednesdays Finest welcome Anthony Piper creator of Trill League (the ladies already know).
Piper gives us the definition of Trill, Brando misquotes Rick Ross lyrics, and we get into the genesis of the Trill league project from a facebook post to a full blown comic series and overfunded kickstarter project.
A hip hop parody of DC's Justice League, Anthony's project has gained thousands of fans (more importantly funders) and also more than a few detractors.
So we get into a heavy convo on the the state of "Black Comics" and the freedom of creating outside the expected paradigm. We also chart Anthony's path as a self taught artist, changing careers, and collaborating with (Character Designer) Chase Conley.
