Bienvenue sur On The Edge Table Tennis, le podcast autour du ping et, vous savez, de cette petite balle blanche qui va si vite. Je suis Marie Migot, pongiste professionnelle et je souhaite mettre ce sport en lumière ! Le ping m’a fait découvrir le monde, regardons le ensemble. Entre format court et long, je varie les plaisirs en offrant plusieurs facettes du ping, mais aussi ce qu’il y a autour. Pour les formats longs, j’invite des joueurs, coachs, thérapeutes ou autre, en laissant leur voix nous guider à travers une discussion sur leurs parcours et leurs apprentissages. Pour les formats courts, à travers la mini série « flash », j’aborde des thématiques qui retracent l’histoire du ping ou alors un sujet qui m’intéresse, selon mes envies du moment.

On today's episode I welcome Sofia Polcanova! She was born in Moldova and moved to Austria alone to find better training conditions. She became European Champion in 2022, a big dream of her and her late father. Of course she has won many more medals and is a very important figure in women's table tennis. She is someone who doesn't want to talk about bad feelings, but she allowed the conversation to go deeper and dive into her difficulties. She believes in the power of positivity, she is so grateful to be where she is today and that is her power, to feel it and recognise it.

I welcome Darko Jorgic! He is Slovenian, world top 15, European vice champion, Olympic quarter-finalist and three times winner of the European top 16. An impressive list of achievements at just 25 years of age. He comes from a small country but is one of the best in the world. How did he do it? We look back at his career, his beginnings and his way of seeing things. Personally, I love this player and the person he is, very approachable and kind. With a monstrous backhand.

Dans cette première édition de On The Edge Special, j’accueille, l’équipe de France féminine qui vient de remporter une médaille de bronze aux championnats du monde! Un moment historique, que je voulais marquer. On se retrouve donc 10 jours après, dans une chambre d’hôtel à Singapour pour en discuter. He invited me to Denmark for a conference about my career, and now it is his turn to share his knowledge with us. I welcome Magnus Mallander! He may be very young, but listening to him you can tell he has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the sport that he shares with great intelligence. Someone described him as a person who thinks 'outside the box'. He's the Danish national coach (woman and juniors) and he talks about his mission and his dedication to helping players grow by focusing on who they are as individuals, but also about the challenging lifestyle of coaches and the difficulties he's faced. We also discuss his plan to get more players involved in the sport and the art of sharing the experience with everyone.

Dans cet épisode, Dany Lo, ancien joueur de l'équipe de France que l'on pourrait qualifier de génie, revient sur sa courte carrière en Bleu et sur son parcours atypique. Guider par les signes, c'est un personnage qui fait preuve d'une sensibilité et adopte un regard profond sur son passé. Nous parlons de ses débuts, de sa retraite prématurée, de son parcours d'employé d'entreprise à entraîneur de ping. Melanie Diaz is a player from Puerto Rico and part of a big table tennis family! From having nothing, the love and determination of her surrounding gave her wings to pursue a successful career in sport, but also as a person. From her beginnings to her glory, we travel through her life where we talk about her beginnings, her strong relationship with her family, the Latin American vibes and her choice to be vegan.
A pure soul and a real life lesson, thanks to Melanie for that.

In this first episode I welcome Britt Eerland, a professional table tennis player who has just become a mother. She's won several medals at the European Championships, competed twice at the Olympic Games and was ranked in the top 30 in the world in 2020.
Britt talks about her career, the importance of knowing yourself, being well surrounded and making your own choices. We also talk about intuition and her life after giving birth to her daughter.
