Hello everyone! We're so excited to share episode 31 of our podcast. Each month the podcast will be focusing on themes, and the theme for August is 'overcoming hardships'. In today's episode we have a special guest speaker, Kristin Stewart, join us to talk about the personal hardships she has faced in her own life. We cover some really hard topics and we're so grateful for Kristin's open honesty and heart to share with our listeners. Kristin is a mum to two beautiful teenage girls, retired make up artist and successful business woman. She's just about to sell her dream home which she built with her husband of 16 years and make the move to the Gold Coast with her family. She is a proud Tongan/Australian and comes from a large family of 9 siblings. She was young when her parents divorced and she has nothing but positive memories from this time in her life. She spent a lot of time whilst growing travelling to Tonga with her father and loved everything sporty throughout her childhood. Kristin and her husband have a passion for property and spent around 10 years building their dream home together in Sydney as they could afford it and they're now in a position to purchase a new property in the Gold Coast in cash. From a career perspective she's worked in Real estate, then moved to work as a Makeup Artist before starting her own social marketing business. She wanted more in terms of lifestyle and balance which instigated this change in her career. It hasn't always been easy sailing and there have been many challenges along the way which Kristin so kindly and openly shares with us on the episode. Some of the topics we cover: Representation matters, especially for brown women in business Women encouraging other women to achieve Challenges and hardships Kristin has faced over the years Growth while facing hard times Having an attitude of doing whatever you need to do to get ahead in life Learning compromise and patience Saying no to social events when you're working towards a big financial goal Trusting your gut and your mum intuition when you think something might be wrong with your kids The stigma and judgement around mental health The power of therapy Dealing with a horrific bullying event Breaking violence cycles and leading your family by example Allowing your kids to feel their pain and not try to 'fix' everything for them We cover a wide range of big and tough topics. There's laughter, tears and some amazing takeaways for all of our listeners to think about when they're in seasons of adversity or hardship in their own lives. We hope you enjoy the listen and would love to hear any feedback.  Thank you so much for listening and supporting us.  We appreciate every single one of you.  Mandz & Jo xx
Hey there, In todays episode we deal some love uppercuts about something we believe has been crucial to achieving our own personal successes - unleashing your inner mongrel! One of the reasons this is such an important topic to us is because we really hate seeing people quit on themselves or on their dreams!  We are true believers that nothing is going to be handed to us, we have to go and get it.  That's one of the reasons we started our coaching business, we believe its a privilege to fight for your goals and dreams and we help coach women on this point! You're going to face challenges and adversity on your journey - there's no way around that.  The thing you have control of is how you react.  Knowing when to unleash your mongrel is a big part of that process.   Some of the key points we cover are: Experiencing hardships and refusing to take it sitting down Jo's personal experience in business and how unleashing her inner mongrel helped her achieve big goals How we can't stand being told we 'can't' do something and how we use it as fuel Why we think people quit on themselves  Understanding your deeper why - and documenting it Being comfortable with being uncomfortable It truly comes down to mindset, having an unbreakable self-belief, being consistent, and surrounding yourself with the right people - all topics we talk about on the daily.   We hope you enjoy the listen and would love to hear any feedback.  Thank you so much for listening and supporting us.  We appreciate every single one of you.Mandz & Jo xx
Hey there, Welcome to episode 29! We went property hunting in the Sunshine Coast a couple of weekends ago to look for Jo's first investment property so we thought it would be helpful to share some insights from that experience. We dive into: The hoops to jump through in order to get finance (especially if you're self-employed) The mindset shifts required in order to execute The pre-work required in order to get to a position to apply for finance (increasing income, paying down bad debt)  The reality of choosing your hard Overcoming the overwhelm aka analysis paralysis Understanding your risk appetite The process of shortlisting properties to view A summary of our day property hunting in the Sunshine Coast Putting together property offers aka EXECUTING We hope you enjoy today's episode.  If you do find value, the best way to support us is to share a screenshot to your social media and tag us in.  It really is the biggest compliment.
