In the summer of 1976, a small town in California was shaken to its core when 26 schoolchildren and their bus driver were abducted in broad daylight. The hijackers drove them to a remote rock quarry, where they were forced into a buried moving van—essentially a mass grave beneath six feet of earth. But an extraordinary act of bravery and resilience led by one victim - a 14-year-old boy - resulted in a daring escape after 36 terrifying hours underground. As lead prosecutor in that high-profile case, Clark faced intense scrutiny, not only for her legal strategy but also for her appearance. Now, she's back with a compelling new book that dives into another sensationalized case: Trial by Ambush: Murder, Injustice, and the Truth about the Case of Barbara Graham. In this episode, Marcia Clark joins me to discuss the shocking 1950s capital murder trial of Barbara Graham. Accused of participating in a brutal home invasion robbery that ended in the victim's murder, Barbara's trial became a media circus. Dubbed "Bloody Babs," her beauty was weaponized against her, as the prosecution warned the jury not to fall for her "feminine wiles." But was Barbara Graham truly a cold-blooded killer, or was she an unfortunate woman caught in the wrong circumstances? Marcia Clark brings her extensive legal experience to this fascinating conversation, offering insights into how media sensationalism can distort public perception and impact justice. Don't miss this deep dive into one of the most controversial cases of the 20th century. Disappointed in this podcast, it appears you are making excuses for Diddys disgusting behavior.
so BORING!! I CAN'T with these people speaking.
Who am I to take away from this women's story, but I ask, why? I don't understand why she needed to write a book. I live and grew up in Seattle, and I don't feel that this interview added anything. Maybe reading her book would give more insight.🤷🏾♀️
what nonsense
Great podcast, but man, it has the absolute worst commercials. They're incredibly annoying and jarring every time they come on. Not the best choice for a sensitive topic cast.
wow! I could hardly keep everything straight. I'm not going to lie, as awful as the murder wise, I don't feel particularly bad for the victim. if the account of the relationship between him and Marty was accurate, he created the monster that Marty became. honestly, there's no telling what damage he might have done as an adult. The people I really feel sorry for are Marty's parents. Marty seemed like a nice kid with a lot of potential, if only he hadn't met up with Bobby.
what happened to seasons 5 and 6? they aren't in the list
the long con is how there is a commercial every two minutes. worse than Lore.
um, excuse me? listen up you middle Eastern woman, step siblings are still NOT ALLOWED TO DATE! you and your sick people need to stfu

is it weird that a guest host has put me off this podcast , just something creepy about him and did not enjoy the exchange between hosts, not sure why it is funny to belittle people's medical conditions or why the joke about a terrorist is about them not speaking English ......will go of to other podcasts for a while and hope that my enjoyment of this podcast will return.
just watched an episode about this on Oxygen I think. This podcast episode was way more informative, researched and interesting!
3x the same ad?
It's so frightening the evil that c resides undetected, in some people for so long. Can we ever truly know anyone?
This was a really cool idea, loved hearing all my true crime faves in one go, and discovering new ones that I didn't know were out there. also loved that most of these cases are either lesser known, or presented with a new slant. fingers crossed this is a yearly thing to look forward to!
I was wondering why Nix would be languishing in a Central African jail...turns out that there's a town/prison named Angola in Louisiana. Who would've thought 😊
how sad. then to have to explain to your other children that you purposely killed their brother. 😭
I don't think she should have any consequences. she didn't want to do it, unfortunately this young man died because he wanted to be famous and didn't take the correct precautions. sad all the way around.
whoa...this episode glitched in the middle and I feel like a lot was left out. why did Linda marry him?? please fix the episode.
Lol..she called him a dumbass..
