Those meetings left him with the impression that most people fall in to one of two camps: they either love annuities and have too much, or hate annuities and will never have any. Why is that? Jeremy ruminates on the reasons for and problems with both of these scenarios. What does Jeremy love? The Disney+ show Loki! Find out why.

And if you'd like to hear why Jeremy is looking forward to Chanukah again, make sure to listen to the end!

Jeremy is a Dad! He recorded this podcast just before the birth of his new daughter. And in honor of that event, he brought on his own awesome father, Bruce Udell, who also happens to be his boss! But did you know that Bruce also worked with his father, Aaron Udell? Most people called him “Arky”. Jeremy called him Zayde (“Zay-Dee”, Yiddish for Grandpa). Bruce has a unique perspective then, on what it’s like to work with your father, as well as what it’s like to work with your son. Not to ment...
For years, Jeremy and his firm have largely avoided selling Variable Life Insurance. They just felt it was too risky. Life Insurance plans should have more certainty than to count on mutual funds invested in the stock market. But recently, changes to some Variable Life Insurance policies have made them an attractive option for a lot of their clients and prospects. Jeremy explains why that is, and also why he purchased his own Variable Life policy way back before he even got married!
A lot of people seem to be worried about their money in the banks. It’s understandable with the headlines. Today, Jeremy reminds us that there are risks to putting money under the mattress or burying it in the back yard, and that there are protections in place for significant portions of your deposits at banks. He also discusses the protections on other types of accounts, like investments and annuities. And finally, he lets us know his thoughts on three of his favorite shows that happened to ...
It’s May! Can you believe it? And May is Disability Awareness Month. Jeremy had a family member who got hurt, but luckily, had this very beneficial coverage. He discusses what happened and some of the ins and out of Disability Insurance today, and reveals a little more about the extent of his family.
With the crazy market, how are you tolerating the ride? Should you be thinking about going more conservative with your portfolio? And...why does Jeremy use weird analogies?
Annuities aren't right for everyone. But they can help so many people. Yet for so long, you've been told annuities are bad! And no matter how thoroughly and completely Jeremy explains how annuities work, and what examples Jeremy provides, so many people remain resistant to this tool that could increase your chance of success in retirement. Jeremy wants to know... why do so many of you hate annuities?

For his 20th episode, Jeremy discusses some current events, including: A chat with an Artificial Intelligence that went sideways, a Laser experiment that may have opened up travel to distant stars, and a combination of insurance products that no one wanted. Jeremy takes us back to his Book, Retire Happily Ever After, and discusses Chapter 2, which discusses risks we face in retirement, and Chapter 3, having the right tool to address the risks we face. He also gives us his thoughts on the new Marvel movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
How did the 30 year anniversary of the first Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) remind Jeremy of his greatest fear? Jeremy discusses that, and how ETFs differ from Mutual Funds. Jeremy also describes how taxes can pass through to investors of a Mutual Fund, even when the value of the fund goes down, and some ideas to consider to help mitigate that problem. Finally, Jeremy and his wife don't do dinner out on Valentine's Day anymore. Why not, and what do they do to keep the romance alive? Take a listen!
Today Jeremy talks about the times he’s been asked when to sell a good investment, and what he’s done in those situations. He follows that up by telling us a story about a time when he made a regrettable decision about when to sell a bad investment choice. And finally, Jeremy talks about how some recent experiences with cold weather remind him why it’s worth tolerating the heat of Florida’s summer.
SECURE ACT 2.0 was signed into law at the end 2022. How will the new rules affect your retirement plan? What provisions should you be aware of? Jeremy has some of those answers for you in this episode.
Did you know Jeremy wrote a book? Today, Jeremy talks a little bit about how that came to be, summarizes the analogy he used in the first chapter, then tells us about his affinity for books in general.
