Open: The ComedyCast

Tyler and I met at Bibo Coffee out by the University. We were supposed to talk about comedy, but we ended up talking about bus schedules, and Garden State, and how Tyler and Raph run a monthly stand up show in Raph's back yard.  This was well over a month ago, and I'm ashamed. Sorry Tyler... 

Naomi and I met at Hub Coffee down by the river (if you hadn't already noticed, this podcast's recurring theme is coffee shops), ostensibly to talk about comedy. Mostly we talked about Wanda Sykes, how little we know about Sports, Improv, basic white bitches, and how FUCKING windy it was. This was a few weeks ago, but still up faster than Raph's episode.

Month three of the competition (and therefore the whole competition) is over, and we've got our finalists. Bobby has been a participant in each week's competition, and after some, shall we say life changing events last year, he decided to try to give the Reno Comedy Scene his undivided attention. For this interview, we met up early on Thursday night at Great Basin Brewing Company for a pre-show recording. Andrew was in town visiting with Bryant before moving to New York. He's going on a comedy tour shortly, so be sure to look him up in your neck of the woods. Jym and I meet up for a really fun interview. We talk about some really heavy stuff, like depression, divorce, the poor health of loved ones, getting old and fat, and weird childhood rules. Week 2 of our Open Mic comedy competition, and it went pretty well. We had a great turnout crowd with near capacity seating. There are some audio issues up front, but bear with it, as there are some excellent jokes being told. Mini-rant time: I had to cut out some of the crowd noise for a few minutes, as an inconsiderate woman decided to tell me how terrible of a job I was doing at controlling the audio on a mixing table that isn't mine. Allegedly she also attempted to dine-and-dash, so if you're reading this, lady, you're a terrible human being, and should probably go jump off of a bridge somewhere.Hosted by Justin TimeAppearances by 13 local comics!
