Max and Mike - the two guys who run this circus checking in with an episode loosely focused on the time Max took a rowboat, and a model who can’t swim out to the Ship Graveyard in Staten Island to make an incredible photo. We get into why exploring on the water is a whole other kind of thing, and tell the kind of stories we tell when we’re driving hours to some abandoned place that’s so off the map you can’t even get music in, so you have to entertain each other. Welcome to Open 24/7, hosted by Max and Mike, where they dive into the thrilling world of urban exploration and photography. They discuss the freedom and exhilaration that comes with exploring abandoned locations, from ship graveyards in Staten Island to hidden tunnels and iconic rooftops. The hosts share personal stories, introduce notable explorers, and emphasize the camaraderie and adventure that define this unique lifestyle. They also touch on the challenges and preparation involved in these explorations and wrap up with discussions on their favorite post-adventure meals and music preferences. Join them as they kick off their first season with epic tales and captivating conversations. You can find Max on IG @MAX.BON and Mike @HYSTERICAL.PANIC Open 24/7 is a podcast about urbex. “It's really hard doing something that you've never done before and that you can't relate to something else. There's some similarities in exploring, but for the most part, You have to treat everything as a brand new experience. 'cause I mean, you could die. You go into the subway, you go into a place where you can fall, like you can literally die. So it feels like everything is new for, you know, for the first time. And I appreciate that.” -Logan HicksLogan Hicks, stencil artist, photographer and explorer recounts a wild and terrifying escape from a Chicago rooftop pursued by a gun-wielding loon pretending to be a cop. (People are nuts, mind your own business) Logan dives into the iconic Underbelly Project, a secretive, underground art exhibit in an abandoned subway station involving 103 artists. He highlights the significance of certain artworks and the unwritten rules of exploring. Along the way, Logan reveals a few favorite New York food spots and some tracks to set the vibe for editing his photos. You can find Logan on IG @LOGANHICSKNY and you can see his incredible art on his website, and walls and galleries all over the planet.Open 24/7 is a podcast about urbex. There are a lot of epic things to climb on planet Earth, but climbing the last remaining ancient wonder of the world? Yeah, come at that. Great to catch up with our friend Lucinda, and go a little deeper than the surface hype. We get into the details of what it’s like to explore places where things might not be safe or stable, everyone might be a spy and the guns are definitely loaded. Also, the all time greatest escape.Artist and photographer Lucinda Grange shares her adventure of climbing the Great Pyramid of Giza. Amidst the backdrop of political unrest, gunshots, and curfews, Lucinda details the challenges of planning the climb, navigating security, and the exhilaration of reaching the top. She recounts her theories about a strange hotel owner, evading security guards, and the stunning experience of seeing ancient carvings at the summit. Lucinda also talks about her artistic projects, including creating a robot that can draw and 3D scanning underground spaces! As cool as it sounds.*We had some audio issues recording this episode, so apologies that Max disappears towards the end. “So I was down in the wine cellar hidden in the Brooklyn Bridge…”WHAT? Chopping it up and chopping it down with Sever. We had so much to talk about on this one, we promise to do a part two…In this episode, we dive deep into the world beneath New York City with Sever, our guy known for navigating the city's extensive subway system. We get into the forgotten wine cellar inside the Brooklyn Bridge, the strange and makes no sense history of NYCs competing mass transit systems, and why the legendary Brooklyn Dodgers are called the Dodgers (hint it has to do with trains, or more specifically not getting hit by trains). The show covers unique urban exploration insights, dangerous encounters, and the rich history of NYC's underground. You’ll also get a taste of Sever's favorite Brooklyn eateries and an inside look at the graffiti culture linked to the city's transit system. You might find Sever on IG but he doesn’t really want to be found.Open 24/7 is a podcast about urbex. It was so cool to chop it up with Leah and get an insiders view of what exploring in South East Asia is actually like. The flooded mall? Not a thing. Dropping a little cash to walk through someones home to see a bando circus theatre? A thing. Learn about sacred geometry and getting out a jam when your driver leaves you in the middle of nowhere.Join us as we talk with Leah. In this episode, we dive into her experiences exploring abandoned places in Asia, searching for a massive statue of Shiva, temples, malls, and an amusement park overtaken by nature. Listen to her shrug off motorbike accidents and getting stranded in rural Thailand. Learn about how some people are making a few bhat by living in a house connected to a bando. You can find Leah on IG @LEAHALENA.R. Open 24/7 is a podcast about urbex. Love catching up with with our Euro explorer friends, it’s such a different vibe than the US. Above and below all over Europe. If a friend asks you to help put together what might be his last explore ever, you’re going to go hard.“If you only do what you’re supposed to do in life then life is basically you staying at home. You cannot do this. You cannot do that. Meanwhile, if you walk on a flat sidewalk or on a flat rooftop it is still flat.” - JeroenJoin Mike and Max as they sit down with urban explorer and photographer Jeroen from Holland. In this episode, Jeroen shares his experiences exploring rooftops, tunnels, and catacombs across Europe.
