If you can count on one thing about us, it's that you will get us in our most real moments! In this episode, we touch on some of the positive side of things since opening our marriage. We like to give each other a hard time and laugh at our own jokes, but that's part of the fun in this and we hope you'll laugh and cringe right along with us! We have learned so much about ourselves and about one another that we think it's so important to share some of those things, because this lifestyle can test you in so many ways. The positive side must be shared! 

Let's talk about all the different misconceptions that come along with being involved in the lifestyle, from others. Or at least a few that we have dealt with. When someone finds out that we are part of this lifestyle, instantly there is a stigma that we are labeled with. Most people have accepted it as being just a little part of who we are, but there have been a few who have perceived us to be something completely different and have judged our marriage for being something that it is not. You'll sense the honesty in this one...along with a few moments of getting down to the nitty gritty between the two of us. When we decided to talk about the topic "Expectations" and what are they to us, we had no idea that the conversation would take us down so many rabbit holes. There is so much to this topic, I'm not sure we even began to skim the surface. This one is a whirlwind of opinions and emotions that will leave you wondering if you got off the rollercoaster...or on. But, ultimately we stay on track with staying focused on what our own expectations were at the beginning and what they evolved to now after so many years. 

Our first experience was one we'll never forget. From the very beginning we did it all wrong, and the universe laughed at us while we muddled our way through it. 

This is it! The very beginning of our Open Marriage journey! If there is one thing we've learned throughout the years, it's that everyone has a story. Some stories are pretty vanilla and some are pretty intense. But, there is typically a good reason why couples start into this lifestyle and the beginning is such an important time. Couples experience so many emotions and frustrations... It could make or break them. This is our story of the beginning, what prompted us to even consider the lifestyle and the kind of fun and frustrations we dealt with at that time and ever since.
