Earlier this summer, Team Ostium had the chance to sit down and have a nice long chat. You’ll get to hear from Georgia Mckenzie, who performs the character Monica, Chris Fletcher who performs the character Jake, and myself, Alex C. Telander. I write and produce the show, and also do the voice of Dave/Steve. In the first part of this special Behind the Ostium, we all talk about what’s been going on in our lives in 2019 and what we’re working on now. If you enjoy this chat, you should really consider becoming a patron of Ostium. For just $2 a month, you can get access to the entire Behind the Ostium series. We cover all of season one, as Duane and I talk about each episode, and right now we’re working through our World Building series. You’ll also get access to all the Ostium Files, with news ones coming, outtakes, and lots more. Plus, by supporting Ostium you’ll help fund the show and help pay our actors. We are living in unprecedented times. Not just with the pandemic, but with our country, and the rest of the world, speaking up and fighting against racism that has been going on for centuries. Changes need to happen at every level of our society. If you can, please help support Black Lives Matter: https://www.thecut.com/article/george-floyd-protests-how-to-help-where-to-donate.htmlI’d also like to recommend season two of Scene on Radio, Seeing White, which goes into the history of systemic racism in the United States: https://www.sceneonradio.org/seeing-white/ And the latest episode of Point Mystic where you get to hear from an activist known as Xochitl in her own words of what it is to be Black in America: https://radiopublic.com/point-mystic-6rNAXq/s1!cd286_______________________________________________________________________________________________________Earlier this year, I was invited by Mike Troup of the Earth Collective to participate in a new show, Behind the Collective, where we put each other in the hot seat and ask questions about each other’s shows. In this particular episode, we talked about each of our first episodes, which led to discussions about writing, creativity, storytelling, and podcasting. Mike has graciously allowed us to run this episode of Behind the Collective for the Ostium listeners. Enjoy!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/ostium. Hosted on Acast. lol it's not that bad I've heard much worse at least it's not some narrator that sounds like he's got a mouthfull of marbles while he's reading a book and two things I've noticed Jake for being so smart is actually kinda dumb he should have went through the door with Miranda coming out of the Dyson sphere cause he knew the past version of him would somehow be displaced and not be there so there wouldn't have been 2 of them in one time frame anyway and I'm pretty sure the reason there's no one on the other side of any of those doors is because the doors send you to one point in time at each location so any people that were there have moved ahead in time while the room is stuck at one point

I was really liking this podcast until this season. You couldn't come up with a decent new storyline for this season so you're basically advertising other podcasts? Not to mention the episodes are short as hell. I hope it gets better or I'm going to have to dump this one and find another.

Definitely sick of the same content being re-released. Get back to the story, or have we run out of story?

I hated it. Sexist towards men. Extremely hard to follow. The long breaks made it difficult to follow, plus all the ads. No reason this should have been broken up in 12 episodes. App downloads when it’s released but couldn’t listen until all of them were available. Thank you but no thank you. Give me Jake and Monica back. This sucked.

it started out string and then drifted off completely. I usually stick around to finish a podcast, but after having listened to all four complete seasons I just can't get into the newer episodes.

Please tell me this gets better. I like the premises of the story and curious to see where it goes, but the acting... it's awful. The mouth noise is crazy distracting.

Strange where this podcast ended up. Through the episodes the story felt like it was going in one direction and then it seemed to meander off somewhere else only to end up in another place altogether. I listened to all episodes but don't really know if it's been worth it. No particular opinion on this one.

I have listened through the whole thing and have enjoyed it.the only thing I take issue with is the amount of “f” bombs.you can make a really great story without them and I wish they would.i just think they take away from the story.

My humble opinion: This, along with the last two episodes have been... Barely palatable. I love the idea of this story, but Monica's character is too loquacious. And not in a 'comfortable' way. The writing is ambiguous.. Like Alex doesn't know how to get his point across succinctly. Again, I love the story.. Just think the delivery could be much improved.
