In an age of box-office busting behemoths and infinite franchise foreshadowing, it can be refreshing to look back on what started them all.
This series, hosted by Byron Wylder and Gabriel Medina Blackman charts the franchises that define our cinematic landscape, and searches for answers to the questions: Why has this lasted? Why do they keep making them? And why do we keep on going to see them?
We've done franchises such as Star Wars, the Terminator, and even classics like The Godfather triology.

David Ayer's Suicide Squad is the next entry of this franchise.
Suicide Squad unites a bunch of Batman villains into a plot to stop meta-humans. But, as it's common in this franchise, things behind the scenes did not go smoothly. This movie is infamous on how the edit was completely changed from the directors original vision, and it shows.
After this is an actual good movie, see you then.

It's one of the most acclaimed blockbusters ever made. It was the first superhero movie to reach 1 billion dollars. It cemented Christopher Nolan as the most influential director in Hollywood, and it gave Heath Ledger a legendary showcase of his immense talent which became all the more haunting after his untimely death before the release of the movie... there is no other movie with quite as much baggage as The Dark Knight.
It's been twelve years and both Byron and Gabe have very high opinions, but also questions and observations about the craft and legacy of this movie. Hear us dispell some of the urban myths about Ledger and the filming of certain scenes, let us make you laugh with dumb impressions of Michael Caine and Batman, and we hope you'll enjoy some observations about how this may well be the last great American blockbuster that was allowed to take risks.
Please enjoy! We hope you're all safe

As this is the closest to what Tenet will be, we've spend a good amount of time talking about it's premise, characters, effects and of course, many different movie's soundtracks, like Lion King and The social Network.
