Outsights-In is back from summer break with a brand new episode! We’re proud to say that this episode’s guest is none other than former KPN Colleague Kiki van den Berg, EVP HR Strategy & Transformation & Head Digital Transformation at Rabobank. Together with our own transformation guru Hidde Andriessen we talked about Rabobank’s Simplify @ Scale program. This transformation program focuses on the next steps in the Agile and busdevops way of working. But what does that really mean? What were key breakthroughs? Can we still talk about an IT department? What was the effect on people's motivation? What kind of culture fits this way of working? What and who else is involved in such a transformation? One thing’s for sure: we learned a lot and need to take steps to keep up!
For this episode we invited old acquintance Eric Kuisch! Eric worked for KPN for 22 years, is now the COO of Eurofiber Group and recently wrote a book about succesfully managing engineers, developers and IT-specialists called ‘Paradijsvogels/Birds of Paradise’. We talked about his KPN journey, but mostly about how to work with tech talents/paradijsvogels. How do you recognise these talents? How do we stimulate and hire them? Which mistakes do leaders often make when working with IT professionals? For all our techies: we’re really curious if you recognise what he says and what we, as KPN, can learn and improve!
Most of us grew up with Disney and a lot of people still enjoy the Disney content (and the people who say they don’t, are probably lying). Today, Disney is the largest, most admired media company in the world, counting Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox among its properties. But what do we know about The Walt Disney Company? What is their story and how did the company develop over the years? And more importantly; how did they manage to become even more successful? Together with Disney fan Alex Faber we talk about the book ‘The Ride of a Lifetime’ by Bob Iger, who has been the CEO of The Walt Disney company for 15 years. What are lessons learned and what can we learn from them?
Get grip on your week, year and life! This week’s guest is Jaro Redczus and we’ll be talking about the book Grip by Rick Pastoor! According to Jaro this book cracked the code of smart working. The truth is that everyone has 24 hours a day, but somehow some people get more done than others. How come? And let’s be honest, don’t we all want to work more efficiently? More in line with our beliefs and values? To really make a difference? Even though Jaro has been working on the subject of smart learning for years, this book has dramatically changed his way of working and he gained a more conscious life. Because after all, time is the most valuable asset we have. Want to know how you can do the same? Listen to the podcast now!
Bookclub episode #1 Ever heard of Ricardo Semler and his book Maverick? Our colleague Andreia Pombinho Fernando definitely has. Semler turned his family's business, the aging Semco corporation of Brazil, into one of the most revolutionary business success stories of our time. By eliminating unneeded layers of management and allowing employees unprecedented democracy in the workplace, he created a company that challenged the old ways and blazed a path to success in an uncertain economy. In this episode Andreia tells us what she learned and how she uses this in her day-to-day job!
