Overhated

At first glance you'd think "ew, what's that?" but then someone told you who the writers / director were and your brain said "whaaaaat?" Big thanks to my guest Paul Rosen of Piecing It Together podcast for picking this truly insane mash-up of noir, farce, and insane physics. Check out the list of episodes here: bit.ly/3WZiLFk. If you grew up loving Conan the Barbarian (1982) you probably also had some room in your heart for Conan the Destroyer (1984) and Red Sonja (1985). And if not, that's OK. For this episode I found a big Sonja supporter in my old friend Ashley Lynch. Big thanks to Ashley for picking this one, and my love to Effin Birds and every single patron / listener! It's got its fair share of fans these days, but that was not the case back in 1995. Join me and my excellent first-time guest Simon Underwood as we discuss this kitschy curiosity that somehow stood the test of time. Sort of. Check out the list of episodes here: bit.ly/3WZiLFk. The fifth and final film in our Dabney Coleman tribute is a wildly silly comedy about a talking horse who gives out good stock tips. Yes, really. Big thanks to this week's returning guest, friend and sponsor Aaron Reynolds, aka the Effin Birds man. He likes this movie! Check out the list of episodes here: bit.ly/3WZiLFk. Our Dabney Coleman tribute continues with a virtually forgotten Tom Hanks spy farce that has one truly impressive ensemble cast. Big thanks to Cecil Trachenberg of Good Bad Flicks for choosing this one. Check out the list of episodes here: bit.ly/3WZiLFk.
