In this episode Toni Nagy interviews Sarah Elizabeth Richards, author of the book "Motherhood Rescheduled: The New Frontier of Egg Freezing and the Women Who Tried It."  When Sarah was nearing 40, she decided that she was going to freeze 70 of her eggs in order to take control of her fertility, and allow herself some time to start the family she always dreamed of.  Her story is very touching, and shines a light on a variety of issues around women's health, feminism, the limitations of biology, and advances in science.
What do you think about feminists? Do you picture a man-hating lady braiding her armpit hair while roasting marshmallows over the fire of her burning bra? Do you think it is important to pass on feminist ideology onto our children? This podcast! "Raising Our Children with Feminist Values" is an interview with Jennifer Baumgardner.   Jennifer Baumgardner is a writer, activist, filmmaker, and lecturer whose work explores abortion, sex, bisexuality, rape, single parenthood, and women’s power. She is the Executive Director/Publisher at The Feminist Press at CUNY.
In today's episode I interview author Tanya Selvaratnam who recently wrote the book "The Big Lie; Motherhood, Feminism, and the Reality of the Biological Clock."  We explore the question "can women have it all?" and how many might be waiting too long to have babies while staring out the window of their fertility.
You would think that breastfeeding is easy considering most of us have put our boobs in someone's mouth at one point or another. Just because the mechanics seem obvious, it doesn't mean breastfeeding is free of complications.  We all can't look like Madonna and child, especially because those pointy bras are hard to come by.   In this episode Toni interviews Grace Aldrich, and together they explore the ins and outs of breastfeeding, point the listeners towards resources, and also describe their own experiences.

Hey, there is something coming out of my vagina, and it’s a human!  This episode we focus on the topic of natural childbirth.  To have a “natural” birth, you don't necessarily have to spurt out your baby in a yurt, adorned with Tibetan flags, and surrounded by candlelight while being covered in the menses of a yack…. unless you are into that sort of thing.  In which case - do you sister!   We will tell our own birth stories, explore the approaches possible for natural birth, provide resources, discuss the emotional and social baggage, as well as interview Rob Coombs the founder of The Natural Birth Summit.
