Summary ## Upcoming Events - **Air and Water Event**: Mark your calendars for April 26th in Southern California. This promises to be a wonderful show for getting your Porsche vibes going. - **PECATL 10-Year Anniversary Special Exhibit**: Currently featuring some of the rarest Porsches on display at Porsche Experience Center Atlanta. The displays are constantly changing, so visit soon before they're gone. ## Recent Porsche News ### GT3 RS Crash in Nevada A 32-year-old driver who won a Porsche GT3 RS from a giveaway last September crashed the vehicle on a mountain road in Nevada in late March. The incident occurred on Gieger Grade in Storey County, where: - Speed limit was 45 mph, but the driver was estimated to be traveling at 80-85 mph - Driver swerved to avoid another motorist, struck a metal barrier, and went down an embankment - The 2016 Porsche Coupe was totaled - Driver was arrested for DUI and carrying a firearm while intoxicated - A passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries[2] This unfortunate incident highlights that even the most capable vehicles have limits and cannot compensate for poor driver decisions. Remember to drive responsibly on public roads and consider the safety of other motorists. ### Porsche Considering Military Products In an interesting development, Porsche is reportedly considering a return to manufacturing military products to offset a potential financial loss. For those unfamiliar with the company's history, Porsche previously manufactured tanks and other military equipment.  Discussion points: - Would they offer Paint-to-Sample (PTS) for military vehicles? - Specialty weapons as optional upgrades? - Extended leather interior packages for tanks? ## Thank You to Our People We'd like to express our gratitude to all our listeners and supporters who tune in each week.
EP 251 This week's episode dives into major industry news affecting Porsche owners and enthusiasts alike. From tariffs to new models and racing victories, we've got a packed show! Are you part of the Pcar Club? No?  Join at www.Patreon.com/pcartalk **25% Tariffs and Their Impact** The newly implemented 25% tariffs will affect virtually everyone in the automotive world, even if you only buy used cars. Parts imported from outside the US are subject to these tariffs, which is why I rushed to purchase components from FVD Brombacher in Germany before prices increase. We'll have a deep conversation about how this affects the market and your wallet. **992.2 Turbo Hybrid Confirmation** Following up on our previous discussion, we now have official confirmation about the 992.2 Turbo hybrid. We'll close the loop on this development and what it means for the future of the 911 lineup. **Porsche Penske Racing Success** Porsche Penske secured impressive 1-2 finishes at Sebring! This is significant because it demonstrates the car's versatility - winning both the 24-hour Daytona and the shorter Sebring track. This challenges the previous notion that these cars would only perform well on certain tracks. What does this mean for Le Mans? **911 Carrera Price Increases vs. Corvette Z06** Car and Driver reported the new 911 Carrera now starts at $129,950 - an $8k increase. Meanwhile, the new Corvette Z06 costs $127,345 with its naturally aspirated 670 horsepower engine. With the addition of tariffs, the American sports car is looking like an incredible bargain. What would you choose? ## After the Break **Turbo S Hybrid Service Challenges** **Massive Financial Impact of Tariffs**

This Week's Topics The Ever-Changing "Poor Man's Porsche" The debate about which Porsche model is the "poor man's Porsche" continues to evolve. Historically, this title has shifted from the 912 decades ago to the 944s and 914s. Currently, early Boxster models hold this distinction according to market data. What are your thoughts on this trend? Will we see Taycan Turbos claiming this title in a decade? Sinking Porsche Design Tower The Porsche Design Tower in Florida has sunk by 3 inches between 2016 and 2023. While this may seem minor, it's part of a larger issue affecting coastal areas. With sea levels rising, what are your thoughts on the future of coastal real estate? We'll discuss the implications and potential solutions for sinking buildings. Macan EV Recall: Too Bright to Handle In an ironic twist, Porsche is recalling Macan EVs due to excessively bright headlights. Could this be an unintended consequence of endurance racing technology? Let's speculate on other potential recalls and discuss the balance between safety features and EV range. DRT: Time for a Miami Trip?
