Winter work is well underway at P.X. Farms and there’s no slowing down. In this episode we’re loading out 3,000 tonnes of barley, keeping grain moving while the weather closes in and the yard stays busy. Alongside the haulage operation, we take a closer look at how we’re managing farm finances, balancing cash flow, ongoing investments, and the realities of running a large-scale agricultural business.Work continues inside the Shed of Dreams, where we tackle rodent control, push on with building updates, and keep machinery refreshed and ready. There’s also time to deal with fallen trees, give viewers a final reminder on Christmas merchandise cut-offs, and share what it really takes to keep everything moving behind the scenes. To round things off, P.X. Media head out to Val d’Isère as the season draws towards its festive close, and as always we answer your questions at the end of the video. For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. In today’s video we take a deep look at how P.X. Farms has transformed over the past 14 months — from major yard development to preparing the site for our brand-new workshop. With drilling behind us, it's time to reset, repair and prepare for the year ahead. We start by polishing the tractors until they shine, before showing the incredible progress across the yard as groundworks continue for the new workshop. We dig out the foundations, sort tyres for sale, and work our way through hundreds of tonnes of grain as we clean this year’s mustard.Inside the grain store we compare raw grain vs cleaned samples and explain how the system works to maintain quality for millers and end users. James also tries his hand at horse riding, we haul stone with hired trailers, and drainage repairs begin after the archaeological test pits caused significant disruption. To finish, we meet with Ceres Rural to better understand our farm data. For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. In today’s video we welcome Dr Mark Glover from Agrii for a deep dive into biostimulants—what they are, how they work, and where they could fit into commercial UK arable systems. With input costs rising and margins tightening, could biostimulants play a role in building crop resilience, rooting strength and yield stability? We also share our full reaction to Rachel Reeves’ latest budget, discussing the implications for UK agriculture, family farm profitability, and long-term planning. With taxation changes, funding shifts and uncertainty ahead, it’s more important than ever for farmers to adapt their strategies. For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. Today we head to the Cheffins Machinery Auction for a full behind-the-scenes look at how farm machinery is bought, sold, and shipped around the world. From understanding how professional agricultural auctions work to seeing the incredible range of tractors, tools, and equipment on offer, this is a rare insight into one of the biggest trading hubs in UK agriculture. We follow James as he debates whether to spend or sell, explore shipping machinery overseas, and reveal exactly what we sold at auction. We also take a deep dive into modern grain marketing using Hectare Trading, showing how we’re finding new buyers for our mustard, how online grain trading works, and what it means for the future of farm cashflow and transparency.Along the way we discuss the average age of UK farmers, what that means for the future of British agriculture, and how digital platforms, auctions, and smarter trading could change the next generation of farming forever. For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. In today’s video, we face a major challenge as archaeological test sites cut through large areas of our farm, all at this stage without any compensation. While we fully respect the importance of protecting history, the disruption to farming operations is very real, and we show you exactly what this means on the ground.Alongside the trial pits being dug, the team continues pushing hard with yard levelling, cleaning grain stores ready for mustard, repainting the crawlers, installing rodent shield protection around the combines, and clearing building materials. It’s a full-on day of real British farm work, problem solving and preparation. We also get stuck into tractor repairs, repainting steel beams, hedge cutter maintenance, and packing out P.X. merchandise orders, with the new P.X. calendars officially arriving too. From archaeology to day-to-day farming realities, this episode shows the unseen pressures that modern farms face alongside food production. If you enjoy honest, behind-the-scenes farming, make sure to subscribe and comment your thoughts on the archaeology works and how situations like this should be handled. For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. In this very special episode, we travel across the Atlantic to Trinidad, the heart of global fertiliser production, to see where the UAN (Urea Ammonium Nitrate) that powers modern agriculture is made. We’re joined by Hannah and Brenton from Proman, one of the world’s leading producers of ammonia and UAN, as we go behind the scenes of their massive manufacturing plant, from the chemistry of ammonia and nitrate production, to the engineering scale that keeps fertiliser flowing to farms around the world. We explore the science, logistics, and global economics behind fertiliser, from factory control rooms and storage tanks to onboard a cargo ship carrying 50,000 tonnes of product. Plus, we discuss the future of low-carbon shipping and methanol-fuelled vessels, and even squeeze in a quick stop at the beach (and one unfortunate lost phone in the sea…).Comment below: Did you know Trinidad plays such a big role in global food production? For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X. Drilling 2025 is officially complete! In this video we celebrate wrapping up the season as the final beans are drilled with the Horsch Sprinter. With the big job behind us, attention now turns to the workshop as we start repairs, repaint the subsoiler, and service the fleet before everything gets put away.Along the way, we catch up with Simon from S&A Buildings, check in on James’ acorns, repair the Fendt 942, and meet farmers all the way from Tasmania. It’s been a busy campaign, and now the focus shifts from fieldwork to maintenance, preparation, and planning ahead.Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next on the farm! For those interested in our new merchandise:https://pxfarms.myshopify.com/P.X.
