Hello everyone! Today we have @simplyhossien on to catch a laugh and share a conversation surrounding working smart and not hard, as well as the art of happiness. Hossein was born in Iran and shares his experience moving to Canada, along with the culture shock and transition to English; and the differences between first-generation immigrants vs people born in Canada. Hard work means different things to different people, smart work can be done sooner rather than later putting you on the right path. We ask what does it mean to be 'smart' ? " it depends on where your goal is. you might be an idiot at gardening, but you might be amazing at things you are supposed to. To be smart, you have to be smart in things that apply to your goal" - Hossein. Are we able to set aside our ego in order to refrain from sinking the ship when we fail? What do you define your happiness to be? Is your happiness dependent on others or yourself? Overall this episode contains laughs all around and good conversations :) #notalone

hello everyone! in this episode, we have Laura Amada from lauraamada.ca with us to share pieces of her journey and shed light on Mental Health. it can be really scary for people to be alone with themselves, this is why we practice mindfulness and different ways of Creative Expression. Amada says to go deepen within, have that piece of compassion for yourself, we must have some form of Hope. "When the fire is almost out and there is a little bit of kindling and you know it's there, it's very close to dying, but if you can just spark it up, where is that gonna go? That can lead to Creative Expression, having Compassion. That is the way out" - Amada. We also touch on bad experiences in the Mental Health world, as well as personal questions for dealing with Mental Health. Amada wishes one day to own her own practice to create a different kind of atmosphere - she knows how it feels to go somewhere and not be met with Empathy. Hello Everyone! On today's episode of Paranoid in My Paradise @saimfarooqui @brooklynletson @jeremyritchie18 have @halleponton, an upcoming singer/songwriter. Halle shares how feelings can be conveyed through music. Most often than not music is a form of expression, it connects people, Halle says that allowing people to feel what you feel can be rewarding and beautiful, whenever she is feeling something she puts it down in words, after all the greatest love songs couldn't be written without love or loss. The Music Industry can have positive and negative feedback, Halle shares how she has coped with both. Although we may not understand all negativity, we can choose whether or not we want to be a leader or a follower. Advice for an Aspiring Artist: "Keep writing music, don't be embarrassed, that's the biggest thing, don't get embarrassed!! Don't let someone say what you are doing is embarrassing, it takes a lot to post music, but just do it" - Halle Ponton. #NotAlone

Want to know the team a little better? Join us on today's episode where we have RDV team member/friend plus a mentor to Saim - Nitin Gupta, accountant/entrepreneur, on to have an impactful and fun convo! This is more of an opinion-based episode, we all share our own input based upon our experiences or topics shared during this podcast. What do we value? How do we continue to try and help others while still carrying our own bags on our backs? Are we growing or are we not? We all want to make an impact, a lot of times we are so fearful of taking risks, however, we need to make that jump sometimes. What can you do today that will get you where you need to be in the future? Have we been evolving as a society? Is there improvement from our past generation, for example, is there more support for the LQBTQ community? Who is someone else to tell another person they cannot be who they are? A large portion of society lacks self-awareness, do emotionally unintelligent people have a hole inside their hearts? What are they masking? We touch on social media, everyone feels more confident behind a screen, is it a jealousy thing, insecurity? Why do others waste energy and time hating someone when they can put that time into their own things? At one point in all of our lives, we have experienced very low-self esteem, caused by the act of bullying or the environment. We talk and learn more about our younger selves vs where we are today. Join us today for good conversations and maybe a laugh. #notalone

Hello everyone! On this episode of Paranoid in My Paradise @saimfarooqui @brooklynletson @jseremyritchie18 have @spencerrnoble on to converse about Perfectionism and People Pleasing. We talk about how each can affect us in both negative and positive ways. Perfectionism in life can often make you feel unhappy and lead to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm and many more health disorders. Why do we set unrealistically high expectations for ourselves? How are Standards different than perfectionism? Spencer is currently balancing kinesiology and nursing degrees, she states that often failure is a big fear, especially when it comes to perfectionism, however, she also states that without perfectionism she might not be where she is today. Spencer defines it as both helpful, and non-helpful. People pleasing can intertwine with perfectionism. People pleasers avoid conflict and take care of other's feelings/needs before giving a thought to their own, and usually cannot say no to others. This is often a sign of past trauma/current trauma. How does this affect us? Why is it important that we set boundaries, and get ourselves out of a people-pleasing mindset? Join us on today's episode for real talk. #notalone

Hello Everyone! On this episode of Paranoid in My Paradise @saimfarooqui @brooklnyletson @jeremyritchie18, Ft. @Mitch_wagner have MBA/soon to be medical student @jatin.garg28 on to have a conversation about Discipline vs Motivation, and many more topics including social media, friends, challenges, running, support systems and valuable questions. Discipline can be applied to both pleasant and unpleasant tasks. When it happens to be unpleasant how do we continue to strive through it and not fall back on just motivation? What happens when someone may not be, in a position to start the process of discipline? How can we get ourselves out of a hole if we do not have a support system? "what happens when someone needs that motivation to get that discipline?" Jatin explains why he believes discipline is more valuable than motivation, he says "the balance is very subjective, I think it all comes down to what you need at the moment. If you have the discipline you don't need that motivation but sometimes you need that motivation to get started. Ultimately I encourage people to find the discipline and stop relying on motivation" What should be important in life? Join us on this episode, we invite everyone with open arms, (and ears), you are not alone. #notalone
