Vive la Reunion! Well, we've previously had interviews in Russian and German on PBC Podcast and now French steps to the fore. In the season finale we meet our exotic visitors from a school in the Indian Ocean who came into Pres on an exchange in May. Teacher Luc Briand and his students from Reunion Island, a French Département east of Madagascar, share their culture and music with us including bi-lingual interviews and chats.Amuse-toi bien! Past pupil Cillian Murphy is on a winning streak following the huge success of Oppenheimer having won a golden globe, he's now nominated for an Oscar, Bafta and SAG. We are absolutely thrilled with all his accolades and wish him all the best in bringing the gold home. We've a star studded line up this episode with a literary theme at the heart. This episode is inspired by poet Liam Lynch, a Kerryman from whose passion for poetry ignited after he went blind at a very young age. Through poetry he began to understand the true feelings within his soul & mind as he began to adapt to a new world. The TY's carried out a Poetry For The Blind Project in honour of Liam, so what better way to hear some poetry from some very famous voices on their favourite poems. We hear from movie star Cillian Murphy, to comedian Mario Rosenstock & Cork hurling legend Donal Óg Cusak, not to forget some PBC teachers who share some of their own poetry. We also have a in depth interview with poet & PBC alumnus Bernard O'Donoghue on his school days & what led him to a life in the literary world.And last but not least we have critics Ronan & Cian on their movie & literary recommendations. Mr Ahern who is also a well established actor played a vital role in introducing drama & theatre to the school & built the fully equipped tv studio in Pres back in the 80's. He looks back on his acting career as well as his 7 decades in the school. We also hear from local legend Stevie G on his lengthy career as a DJ, journalist & radio presenter amongst other things.
