PETL Awards - 2008 Awards

The College of Liberal Arts established the Teaching Effectiveness Committee in 1989 to recognize its outstanding teachers. In 2002, the Teaching Effectiveness Committee was dissolved and replaced by a new committee, the Promotion of Excellence in Teaching and Learning Committee (or PETL), which was given an expanded charge. In addition to overseeing and broadening the CLA’s Teaching Award program, it also was given responsibility for developing and implementing teaching enhancement activities throughout the college, either as stand-alone activities, or co-sponsored with the newly formed Biggio Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (which was established in 2003).
