After finding themselves in a 2-0 hole early in the 2nd period, the Flyers tied the game 3 times in the 3rd period, and escaped with a miraculous 5-4 overtime win over Columbus Blue Jackets courtesy of Owen Tippett.Charlie, Tyler, and Steve discuss tonight’s win and what’s next for the Orange and Black with their lengthy upcoming road trip.
Coming off a 7-3 loss to the LA kings, Danny Briere made one move before the clock struck midnight and rosters froze for the Christmas holiday, sending Emil Andrae back to the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms. While the Flyers passed on making a trade before the freeze, there’s plenty going on on Broad Street between Cam York getting scratched, Matvei Michkov’s slump and much more.Charlie, Kelly & Bill discuss the orange & black’s cold streak, potential roster shakeups, and goaltenders live from the Reading Terminal Market.
The Flyers and Kings gave us a crazy first 40 minutes, with the score tied 3-3 and and Philadelphia with a 24-19 shot advantage. But Los Angeles took over in the 3rd, scoring in the first two minutes and adding three more to ice the game.Bill, Charlie & Steve break down the loss and what it will take for the Orange & Black to get back on track.
Down 4-2 at the end of the 2nd period, the Flyers chances of winning seemed slim after two periods of sloppy play. Yet, in a classic twist, the Flyers clawed their way back to tie the game 4-4 5 mins into the 3rd but unfortunately lost their way in a 6-4 defeat.Bill, Charlie, and the birthday girl Kelly react to the loss and preview tomorrow's game as well.
With back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday, and the Holiday Roster Freeze going into effect in between, there have been rumors circulating that Philadelphia has been involved in trade talks with several teams, including the Los Angeles Kings.Charlie & Bill discuss the rumors, as well as John Tortorella’s comments concerning Matvei Michkov, Morgan Frost, and more!
Marc-Andre Fleury picked up his 33rd and final career win against the Philadelphia Flyers while MVP-favorite Kirill Kaprizov scored his 19th & 20th goals of the season in Minnesota’s win on Saturday afternoon.Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss, potential lineup changes for Wednesday, and some news about Philly’s prospects headed to the World Juniors Championships later this month.
After being named the Philadelphia Flyers #2 goaltender ahead of Ivan Fedotov, Aleksei Kolosov turned in one of his best performances, stopping 25 of 26 Red Wings shots on Thursday night. But is Kolosov done climbing the Orange and Black’s depth chart? Could Kolosov challenge starter Sam Ersson for playing time?Charlie, Kelly & Bill discuss the competition between the pipes, as well as Emil Andrae in the defensive rotation, Scott Laughton’s 4 goals, and Matvei Michkov.
Scott Laughton continued his dominance over the Detroit Red Wings, scoring 4 GOALS to give him 13 in his last 13 games against the Wings and over 100 overall goals for his career.Aleksei Kolosov, on the day John Tortorella told the media his young Russian rookie netminder was officially #2 on Philly’s depth chart, was great as well, coming within 4 minutes of his first career shutout.Charlie, Bill & Steve break down the win, the goalie situation, and what to expect when the Flyers and Red Wings meet again in 6 days.
On Wednesday, Charlie published an article putting an imaginary optimistic Flyers fan against an imaginary pessimist. On today’s show, Charlie, Kelly and Bill have the debate for real.Should the excitement over Matvei Michkov’s point-per-game pace outweigh the lack of centers to match his skill? Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny are having all-star caliber seasons, but is that enough to justify long-term commitments to veterans during a rebuild? And where are we on Owen Tippett, Bobby Brink, Jamie Drysdale and other young pieces?
Matvei Michkov registered a pair of assists to make him a point-per-game player through the first 27 games of his career, and Travis Konecny notched a pair of goals en route to a big win for the Flyers in Columbus on Tuesday night.Charlie & Bill discuss the win, as well as strong performances for Jamie Drysdale, Morgan Frost, Tyson Foerster and more!
With both the Philadelphia Flyers and Utah HC on the backend of back-to-backs, it was the artists formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes that came out on top, as they were just sharper pretty much all night. With both Sam Ersson and Jamie Drysdale making their returns, the Flyers could have benefitted from the addition of fresh legs, but unfortunately it was t enough, as they just spent too much time in their own zone.Charlie, Kelly & Bill break down the loss and what’s next for a few Flyers at crossroads.
Matvei Michkov gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Boston fought back with a couple of 3rd period goals to send the game to overtime where, despite a Joel Farabee breakaway, the Bruins won it in the 3v3.Charlie & Bill break down the loss, and discuss the undisciplined play that has undone the Orange and black in consecutive losses.
Check out the first 26 games of the Philadelphia Flyers schedule. Open the box score and see how the final 10, 20, 30 minutes unfolded. Philly has accomplished its stated goal of competitive hockey, with at least 20 games so far unfolding in dramatic fashion. But is that sustainable? We saw the team fall off a cliff late last season. Will the pressure turn them into diamonds or crack them?Charlie & Bill discuss the ridiculous nature of Flyers hockey, plus Matvei Michkov’s big night, Tyson Foerster and Owen Tippett heating up, and why Jacob Trouba may make sense in Orange & Black.
The Flyers fought back from a 3-0 deficit to take a 5-4 lead, but there’s a reason the Florida Panthers have ruled the Eastern Conference for over 2 years. The Cats fought back and ended up toppling Philly 7-5, in a wild game at the Wells Fargo Center.Charlie, Bill & JP break down the loss and what’s next for the Flyers.
It’s our first show of December and the Philadelphia Flyers are currently holding the 2nd Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference!Charlie, Kelly & Bill take a look at the standings, Matvei Michkov’s rookie performance, and the best and worst of the first 2 months of the Philadelphia Flyers season.
MICHKOVMANIA!Matvei Michkov, for the 3rd time as a teenager, scored the overtime winner for the Flyers to cap off a game that went from boring to dramatic very quickly.Michkov set up Owen Tippett to open the scoring and that’s all we saw until a busy 3rd period, as the standouts in the game were goaltenders Jordan Binnington and Aleksei Kolosov. That is, until OT.Charlie & Bill break down the win and the tremendous play of the Russian Rookies.
The Philadelphia Flyers scored a couple of goals on Igor Shesterkin before 4:30 had elapsed in the first period, and they didn’t score again until the Rangers star netminder was on the bench with 28 seconds left, but it was enough to earn the victory!Bill, Kelly & Charlie break down the win and appreciate Travis Konecny.
I can’t believe what I just saw. The Flyers win in overtime after doing pretty much nothing all game.Morgan Frost tied the game with 11 seconds left and Sean Couturier won it in overtime, tapping a puck from Travis Konecny by Juuse Saros for the win.Charlie & Bill discuss the game, and the news and trade rumors swirling about.
Morgan Frost and Sean Couturier gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead in the first period and Emil Andrae netted the first goal of his career before the 30-second mark of the 2nd to put Philadelphia up 3-0 on the Pacific-leading Golden Knights. But Vegas made the game 3-2 before Matvei Michkov restored the 2 goal lead, but before the 2nd expired Vegas was once again within a goal, trailing 4-3.Vegas tied it in the 3rd, and despite a ton of late chances for the Orange & Black in the 3rd and throughout OT, Jack Eichel and Ilya Samsonov were too much to overcome in the shootout.Charlie, Bill & JP break down the loss and the efforts of Michkov, Frost, Farabee & Fedotov.
Matvei Michkov certainly has a flare for the dramatic, scoring the OT winner against Connor Bedard’s Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday afternoon in South Philly.Bill, JP & Charlie break down the comeback win and the returns to the lineup for the Flyers.

I understand that Stef always wants to be part of the show and good for her, but maybe scale it back a little bit. I listen to every episode and this isn't the first time she annoyed me but this one made me comment. Stef, stay on the show if you want but take more of a sidekick role, it will be better for the show.
great job hosting, kelly!
