This week, we have our third and final installment of our ALPA Board of Directors Meeting interviews. Captain Jason Ambrosi, the president of ALPA, International, was generous enough to take the time to meet with us and share his thoughts on ALPA’s successes over the first two years of his term, as well as what is on the horizon for the aviation industry moving forward. For those who might not know, Captain Ambrosi also hosts an ALPA podcast, the Air Line Pilot Podcast, focused on ALPA initiatives and the aviation industry.

Welcome back to part 2 of our ALPA Board of Directors special edition interviews. I had the opportunity to sit down with ALPA Director of Government Affairs, Elizabeth Baker, as well as the chair of our own Government Affairs Committee, Matt Chadwick, to discuss the role of ALPA and ALPA PAC in government and what pilots need to know about how your union is working for you.
This interview was recorded in October, prior to the 2024 Presidential Election. ALPA has not endorsed a presidential candidate in many years, and did not in 2024. ALPA and ALPA-PAC firmly believe in working with all elected representatives who are willing and able to help protect and advance the causes of our pilots and the aviation industry.
To quote directly from ALPA-PAC's website “ALPA-PAC is the most bipartisan labor PAC in the country. The PAC counts conservative Republicans, liberal Democrats, and moderates of all stripes among its greatest allies. Party and ideology are irrelevant to an individual’s support for pilot partisan causes. We are pilot partisan.”

In October, your MEC & LEC reps, as well as other team members, traveled to Chicago for an MEC meeting, as well as ALPA’s bi-annual Board of Directors Meetings. Over the next several weeks, we will release three episodes recorded in Chicago during those meetings.
Our first one features interviews with some of the key members of our ALPA support staff. This includes Senior Labor Relations Specialist Dena Jackson, Senior Communications Specialist Nina Ing, and Senior Administrative Specialist Vicki Noble. Your MEC and committees work directly with these staffers who help keep things running smoothly. We take you behind the curtain to see where the real magic happens!
