For one week in July, forty teenagers from Germany and the United States came to Camp Wilkes in Biloxi, Mississippi, to explore the relationship between climate change and biodiversity. In this episode of the POCACITO Climate Cast series, students discuss what they learned, what they liked, and what they'll take home from their shared, intercultural experience.
A tour through the POCACITO ClimateCast universe, starting in the Ruhr Area, a former industrial region in the West of Germany, where former coal mines and polluted rivers are restored to provide habitat for biodiversity. We then move to the Gulf Coast in Mississippi around Biloxi and hear about impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss on the former seafood capital of the world. We end our podcast in the Munich area in Bavaria, where peatlands and wetlands are disappearing, threatening frogs and other biodiversity.More material, including in German in the following episodes. Special thanks to the German Foreign Office for their support.
