As physical therapists, most of us have encountered feelings of imposter syndrome in our careers. Imposter syndrome can cause feelings of self-doubt, anxiety, insecurity, or cause us to fail to recognize our own successes and abilities. In today's episode, Carley, Cara, and Maggie discuss their experiences with imposter syndrome and offer guidance for those who feel like imposter syndrome is an issue in their lives.
In this episode, Maggie, Cara, and Carley discuss how to navigate difficult patients. According to Wasan et al, 2005, a difficult patient is one that invokes feelings such as anger, frustration, guilt, or dread. Throughout this conversation, the hosts will discuss different patient scenarios and offer advice for handling these challenging situations.
In this week's episode, Maggie, Cara, and Carley are joined by two acute care physical therapists (who happen to be married to Cara and Maggie), Dr. Andrew Johnson and Dr. Henry Ott. The two guests share their experiences as acute care therapists including their decision to pursue acute care out of school, their favorite aspects of their jobs, and the biggest challenges they face on a daily basis. If you or someone you know is interested in venturing into the world of acute care, this episode is for you!
In today's episode, your hosts discuss their experience with the job hunt, covering topics such as what to look for in a job, interviewing tips, how to negotiate pay, and so much more. Stay tuned until the end of the episode where Carley shares special advice from her mother, Linda, who is a Human Resources consultant.
In today's epsiode, your hosts are joined by guest Danny McAndrew, PT, DPT. Dr. McAndrew shares his experiences in the non-clinical physical therapy world and explains how he came to the decision that full-time patient care wasn't the best long-term career choice for him. Dr. McAndrew also offers great advice for those who are interested in exploring non-clinical career paths.
