Getting Paid to Address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)

Medicare now reimburses providers for services addressing patients’ social determinants of health (SDOH), such as housing instability, transportation challenges, and food insecurity. Rural Health Clinic Opportunities

Federally designated rural health clinics (RHC) receive enhanced Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement. Recent changes to federal law make RHC designation for clinics in rural areas even more attractive. The applicable billing and coding rules, however, can be confusing. Billing Medicare for G2211: What You Need to Know Now

Beginning this year, Medicare will make payment under the Physician Fee Schedule for HCPCS G2211, the outpatient intensity add-on code.  The impacts of the code were presented during a PYA webinar on February 7, 2024.
