In this episode we focus on Mawson as he heads back down to Antarctica on his Australasian Antarctic Expedition. Things don't go completely to plan as he explores an uncharted coast -- but he does find a pineapple and some oranges, so it's not all bad.
Forget Scott and Amundsen - in this series we unleash two blokes who experience that strange zone beyond the limits of human suffering and endurance, yet live to tell the tale.
In this episode, Ernest Shackleton and Douglas Mawson go for a hoon around Antarctica -- and they like what they see. Sometimes its better to quit while you're ahead, though.
In our final episode of the series, we follow Barry through the deadly jungles of the Central Highlands as he wrestles with the VC, the CIA, and a broken heart -- R.I.P Fatima.
In this episode, we get that little bit closer to the Tiger Man. We cover his early life, his military training, and the situation in Vietnam when he arrives in 1963. Dan also tells a spooky ghost story about a group of Australian soldiers who, for a long time, had their record of service completely erased from the history books.
In this two-part series, we first explore some of the contextual factors that motivated people to fight and die for their country - or socioeconomic ideology - during the Vietnam War. Episode 2 then dives headlong into the thick sweltering jungle in search of - not yetis - a platoon of ghosts and a half-man-half-tiger the CIA are desperate to kill.
In the second and final episode about Amelia Earhart, we reach the point of the story everyone’s been waiting for. That’s right - she’s about to start throwing oranges. Dan then finishes the topic off by solving the mystery once and for all, unleashing an evidence-based analysis of the theories surrounding one of history’s great vanishing acts.
We’re back to Unleash ™️ the story of Amelia Earhart into your earballs. In this episode, a young Amelia discovers the thrill of hospital bed pans. And flying. Dan then takes us on a whirlwind tour from the mean streets of Rotorua to a paupers’ mass grave. It’s a story-within-a-story, describing the life of New Zealand’s Amelia Earhart, Jean Batten.
The final episode focusing on Ed Hillary’s life sees the big man wrestle with personal tragedy, and a sudden aversion to life at high altitude. He somehow still finds the time and energy to go to the South Pole, the North Pole, and attempt to navigate one of the world’s mightiest rivers on a jet boat. And hunt yetis. Again.
Our second episode in our Ed Hillary series shines the spotlight on the Sherpa people, and Tenzing Norgay in particular. Tenzing was a technically brilliant climber, with superhuman strength at altitude — and was the inventor of the thirst trap.
We’ve unleashed a new legend - New Zealand’s most beloved beekeeper, Edmund Hillary. In this episode we discuss his early life and climbing experiences in NZ, rising through the ranks to secure a spot on the British team taking a crack at Everest.
Episode 3 has finally been unleashed, and sees Charlie adjust to life as a prisoner of war, where he shows approximately no respect to his German captors.
This is the last episode focused on Charles Upham, so get in quick before we somehow sell out.
