Tonite we talk with a true paintball legend, decades of experience at all levels of refereeing, game production and more. He has seen it, done it and probably can give you more details about than you are comfortable with someone knowing. He is very astute and observant, but also very laid back. He has been the Head/Ultimate Ref at every major scenario promoter at one point or the other, but he was one of the first with the Godfather, Wayne Dollack. We will talk with Cliffie about his tournament days, his scenario days, where it was, where he thinks it is going and where he would like to see it go. This is going to be a great show, Cliff is one of my paintball heroes with a lot of interactions over the years, and that allows for some great stories.
The Game Director and Head of Development will be on the line along with command staffs from both sides and the field owner to go over the results of the event and allow questions to be asked to fill in any holes. If Lessons are to be learned we have to be open to them. It should be pretty interesting to see what we come up with. We will open the lines for calls after discussion so people can bring their own questions from the game. if you didn't go to the game the questions wont make sense to ask but by all means you can call in as well.
Tonite we talk to one of the unsung heroes of paintball. Not just because he served in the Army and was wounded in action, but because of his impact to paintball and specifically scenario paintball. I met him when he was part of range control at the Blanding MOUT site, and he was an outspoken advocate for paintball at the facility right up until the Florida National Guard decided not to allow paintball in the facility. But he is also known for commanding and playing at Low Country Paintball, as well as other fields across the southeast and is a member of the team BBK. We will talk with Scott about how he got started in paintball, how he interfaced with paintball at the MOUT site, what he thinks about mil-sim and airsoft, and what he thinks the future of paintball and venues like the Blanding MOUT site might be. It will be a very interesting show!
Tonite we talk with Dawn Allcot, who was very well known within the paintball media as an editor, reporter and peer whose voice and opinion was very valued by everyone who interacted with her. We will talk about how she got started in the sport, why she left, where the media went, is she coming back and much more. This will be a very interesting show.
Tonite we finish up with Lawrence "TB" Wright, and we will be dedicating the 2 hour show to people wanting to call in and interact with TB. Whether there is a question you want to ask about the games he has played or something he has seen in the industry. Or if you want to tell your favorite TB story or least favorite for that matter. Pretty much as long as you are respectful, you can talk about whatever you want to with TB and Candie. We are going to limit each guest to 10 min (if need be) but we are sure we will have a pretty busy and engaging show.
Tonite, we continue talking with Lawrence "TB" Wright, but we concentrate on the industry and the media. As a writer who has been published in every paintball magazine that there was at the time as well as creating and printing his own scenario only magazine. He got unprecedented access to the Shatner game and it showed in the movie (yes he is very vocal and visible in the movie with William Shatner). And saw the rise of the internet, the decline of the paintball forum, the introduction of social media and what it has all meant from a media standpoint review of the industry at large. We will also talk about his future in the sport as he has mentioned that this May game at Sherwood Forest (May 3-5), is his retirement game. He will explain what he means by that and what is in his future and why he is starting to become more and more into a production standpoint (especially given his vocal dislike of E-Celebs). But be sure to tune in, you might see a really bright potential future for all of kinetic tag and especially paintball.
This week we start our second season off by speaking with Lawrence "TB" Wright of Thunderstruck. Having been in the game for 20 years, he has some pretty unique ways of looking at the paintball genre called scenario paintball. He has played in over 205 24 hour styled events, 20, 12-hour events, and 20 RTS events in the last 20 years however 95% of that was done in the first 10 years when he was a very active player and commander. He has been on several high profile scenario paintball teams to include Blitzkrieg and Thunderstruck and fully sponsored by some of the biggest names in paintball like Air Gun Designs and Smart Parts. He has also been a writer and director for several well-known scenario producers like Kerry "Viper" Rosenberry and MXS which included Diane "Mother" Howe and Patrick "Packman" McKinnon. He has also produced 10 12-hour games and the first full True 24-hour game last May at Sherwood. He will be commanding at Sherwood Forest this year in what he has stated is his "retirement" game. But with all that said, this should be a pretty interesting interview. As Nudi was not immediately available (she is driving to WA to meet one of her new grandchildren), we thought to have Candie Turner interview TB would be a pretty interesting fit. As a capable and intelligent person who is also female, she will approach things in a way that will be interesting to listen to. And the fact she doesn't really know a lot about TB will add to the complexity of the show. Anyone that has seen TB and Nudi interact would understand how this will probably be one of the most interesting shows about scenario paintball ever. TB has a large experience base and an excellent memory and normally if he says he knows it, he has the evidence to back it up. This will be a 3-day show with the first 2 hours being live and the last hour being more "unfiltered".
Tonite, we interview a true legend in paintball, but also important to scenario paintball. While a lot of people in the industry chased that tournament dollars, Bud always supported the scenario players. He always took when he was asked to command very seriously and I have never heard of a game he has been a commander at that he wasn't involved at every level of the game. I'm ecstatic that I get to interview him and I cannot wait. If you have any questions for Bud that aren't the usual suspects then hit me up and I will add them to the list. And on tomorrow's show, we will have the ability for you to call in and talk with Bud about what his company WGP did for you and your experience in the game. I for sure had several Auto-cockers over the years. :)
Tonite we continue where we left off and we are adding in the ability for people to call in and talk about their experiences with Andy or Jack and the production company. Or if you still interact with them and want to call in and discuss their opinions on things, we can do that as well.
Tonite we delve into some true scenario paintball history, especially in the deep south. These guys were influenced of course by the Dollack era, and then, of course, they played MXS games, then they started producing their own events. And they were pretty damn unique back in the day. They tried some innovative things and did some cool games in some cool places to include the Clayton County Jail. We will talk with Andy "Hoopooted" Sheppard and Jack "Ajax" McClellan of 24 Hour Productions. I am sure we will talk some of my history with them when they were on Team Moist Donut and then afterwards as they were promoters and I supported them with Scenario News at the time and then other magazines as I wrote for various ones along with other reporters. We will talk about what they saw, what they did and why they left the game. So tune in, it will be a unique walk down some scenario paintball history.
Tonite we will finish up with Hellhound and Sully, and get their views on current things in paintball. We will also open up the last hour (9 PM EST/8 CST) for team-mates and other friends to call in and tell some stories about Hellhound and/or Sully! So be sure to tune in or call in, I can pretty much guarantee you will be entertained either way.
Tonite we will talk to scenario legends in their own rights and genre of games. Some may recognize them from the Bill Bailey Tour of Duty games back in the mid-2000's. Others may know them from their days of the German High Command at OK D-Day. And still others will know them from their escapades with the Living Legends games and Viper style games. And even others will know them from their association with their team, The Green Devils and of course, their association with Modern Day Pirates (MDP). And we will talk about all of that. If you are wondering why they are sharing a show together, I can assure you, that you will understand why after the show. Tune in and learn more about Daniel "Hellhound" Massey and Paul "Sully" Sullivan!
Tonite we will finish up with Bill's history in the sport, we will talk about something that pops up every now, the wearing of German WW2 uniforms and the symbology of it. We will also talk about the "OG's" coming back and what he has planned for 2019 and beyond. We will also open up the last hour for those that want to call in and tell a Bill Bailey story or give a shout out, you will be able to do so.
Tonite we talk with William "Bill" Bailey, known for several things; He is a field owner, a scenario producer, a player, a legend and was the overall German OK D-Day commander for years. And he is a veteran and fellow Marine Corps brother. Tonite I will introduce you guys to Bill, and you can learn the really cool things he does, has done and wants to do in the game of paintball. The fields he is working with and how he is helping bring that "OG" Attitude back to scenario paintball.
On this episode TB will be talking with arguably one of the more popular "E-Celebs" or as he says "Drop the E and just call me Celebrity", Reaper. As is the case with all of TB's shows, it should be an interesting show as TB explores the other side of the personae. What does that entail? You will have to tune in to find out, but it should make for a great show!
Tonite we sit down and chat with Luis Ledon and his Paint The World; One Kid at a Time charity. How did he get started in paintball and how did he come up with this idea for a charity? These questions and others will be answered, so tune in. We will open up the last hour to questions from any callers, I know that some of the many chapters that support the charity will have someone calling in to talk about their specific ideas and acts for the charity within their regions. So if you want to find out what this is really about and how you can support it, then feel free to call in at 9:00 EST
Tonite, we continue with our discussion with Dave Cilio. We will touch on his time with Thunderstruck, ESP, The All Americans, UWL and the Master Blasters and even what he is doing now in paintball. It will be a lot of fun, to be sure.
What can I say about this scenario legend? I have been a fan boy of Dave since I saw him in action on the field. From Joint Fury, to RTD and beyond Knightmare Tango was a force to be reckoned with for years, running circles around teams 3 and 4 times the size with just a 4 man squad. Dave also ran on Thunderstruck Scenario Team for quite a few years before moving on to teams like ESP and the Master Blasters. He has also played on the championship SPPL and UWL teams. He currently is playing pro-level tournament paintball at 50 years of age. Dave doesn't have a call sign per se choosing to go by Cilio on the field. But a lot of people from his Thunderstruck days called him "The Machine" with very good reason. And most important, Dave is a close friend whose opinions I truly respect. This will be a great show!
This week we talk with one of the other mover and shakers in the scenario scene with the guy who is the face for the GI Sports Brigade Program, Ryan Sexton. We will talk with him about his start in paintball as a player and then, of course, his contribution to the paintball industry, like the Valken Corps, and other things. It should be a very interesting show, to say the least.
Tonite we talk with Syyar "Death Card" Harrington and Rahim "Briktop" Jones better known as the Command BROS. While becoming known for their weekday FB Live broadcast, there is much more behind the story of the Command BROS. We will talk about all manner of thing involving paintball today since they are on the front lines so to speak dealing with all the drama and issues that this game involves. I think it will be a very interesting discussion, be sure and tune in at 8 PM EST.
