Season 6 episode 75

One of the most dangerous and exciting mountains I've ever been on. What makes this once in a lifetime experience is Papua New Guinea is definitely one of the most remote places in the world. There are dozens if not hundreds of individual tribes that still practice head hunting in these jungles surrounding Carstens. Combine the Primitive natives with a hostile political environment because of mining in the remote areas of this country and you have a recipe for disaster. We have armed guards we have a mountain that's been closed for years we have a mountain with old ropes, what else could you ask for in a high mountain Adventure. All I can say is I'm glad with the number one concessionaire here in Indonesia that is Indonesian expeditions. Combine all this with one of the highest peaks in the world and you have a real live seven Summit Adventure.Carstensz Pyramid (locally known as Puncak Jaya) is the highest summit of Mount Carstensz in the Sudirman Range of the western central highlands of Papua Province, Indonesia. It is best known as one of the Seven Summits (the highest peak on each continent), representing the Oceania/Australasia continent.
