Description
In this podcast we are on a journey into the weird world of church people. Why is it that church people do the things they do, say the things they say, and live the way they live? We are here to reduce fear and increase understanding of the people trying to follow the message of Jesus Christ.

In this continuation of our series, Jaken interviews Johnnie Meadors, a preacher from his church in Sturgis, KY. They discuss coming into the church the first time, struggles with answering God’s call, and leaving the church and coming back. Also featured are a few dog barks, grill sizzles, and Jaken’s nephew. Have a listen!
In this continuation of our current series discussing those church folks who haven’t always been such, I interview my brother-in-law, Texas Young. We discuss both backsliding, and coming in fresh. We talk good decisions and bad. This may be one of my favorite interviews to date! Give it a listen!
Today’s guest in our series of folks who haven’t always been “Church People” is Jessica James. A wife and mother who is raising her kids and living her life for the Lord. Nothing too crazy, except if you’re looking at the standards of the world all around us. This is definitely Peculiar!
If you've been away from church for some time, this one is for you. Over the course of the coming year we intend to be releasing episodes featuring the stories of church people, who haven't exactly always been "church people." Maybe they stepped away, maybe they were never really in it. But somehow they made the radical shift from the outside to the inside. Today we feature the story of Misti Hallum, and her journey from being the "backslidden, divorced girl" to the pastor's right hand lady who is a "Mountain Mover!"

If you've ever been in a church service and heard someone ask the congregation to "pray for our prodigals," and then wondered, "What does that mean?" Then this episode is for you. What exactly is a prodigal anyway?
Simon Sinek introduced the concept of "The Golden Circle" in his book and TED Talk about starting with Why. Typically when trying to share a concept we tell what it is, maybe even how to do it, but if we really want to change things we have to consider why. Today I'm sharing a bit about why it is that the central statement of our show is true, "Church people are weird." Or at the very least I'll tell you why this particular member of the church community is.
Since December it seems this podcast has slipped off schedule. If you follow my other show, Reality Speaks, you'll notice a similar pattern. This isn't an unusual pattern this time of year. What's up with that? Can it be fixed? Let's talk about that.

Long time no post! Jaken preached at church this week and felt that this message needed to be shared with the podcast. Listen as we hear about how to hear from God!
We sing a lot of songs at Christmas time. Are these songs biblically accurate though?
Does anyone know what Christmas is really all about?
We wrap up our series on Jesus words on the last days in Matthew 24 by discussing the Antichrist, persecution, and the return of Jesus to the Earth.
We continue our series by discussing the signs of the last days and coming of the Lord.
We continue our discussion of the end of days by examine Jesus’ Oliver Discourse in Matthew 24. In this chapter the disciples ask Jesus questions that lead to Him unpacking key signs that, honestly, seem very similar to our current day and time.
Tonight we had a youth service at the church, and Jaken preached a sermon titled “Let it Go.” How do we break free from old ways of living and step into a new life? Listen to find out!
The Apocalypse, End of Days, Armageddon. The world is obsessed these days with world ending stories. What does the Bible say about the actual end of days? There is coming a day where all that has been done in this life will have a payoff. Join us over the next several episodes as we discuss these final days. We will start this week discussing: the rapture!
In today’s interview Jaken is joined by the host of the Stay Podcast, pastor of Harvest House UPCI and Sturgis Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, and most importantly his father: Pastor Daniel Orten. This week we return to our regularly scheduled programming and study the conclusion of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We hear these words in the conclusion, “He taught with authority, not as the scribes.” Just what sort of conclusion spurred these words? We will hear in this lesson to come. Please rate, share and subscribe!
Since there is revival going on this week at our local church I didn’t get a chance to record a regular podcast. I did get a sermon I preached recorded and ready for upload! Enjoy and I will be back again next week!
