It was an explosive season finale on Penny Dreadful as a literal race war broke out onto the streets of Los Angeles. The Vega family once again found themselves at the center of the battle for the soul of their city. Dr. Craft felt the pull towards being a Nazi once again to protect his son Tommy, taking pride to a whole new level. Tiago lost the love of his life, as Sister Molly realized she could no longer function as a religious puppet for her mother. Maria, comforted by Raul, and Josefina remains confident that she has dispelled the Angel of Death from her household. And Councilman Townsend celebrates the building of his Motorway next to the Temple and Nazis. Luckily we still have Michener (sad after killing Rocket Boy who was ready to build destructive bombs with the power of 1,000 Suns) and Detective Vega who are ready to protect their city of angels. Happy Season One! AfterShow hosted by Cody Epperson (@codyyepp), Toree Weaver (@toxicmodel), and Adam Carr (@funnyguy1985). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
On episode 5 and 6 of Penny Dreadful, we’re treated to a spicy threesome and even more Nazi drama. Councilman Townsend is showing several different sides of himself, and we see a budding romance? between him and Nazi Kurt. Rio and Mateo get hot and heavy after killing Officer Riley, and things get hotter and heavier when Fly Rico joins in on the fun. As Tiago and Lewis dive deeper into the investigation of all the town’s murders, Tiago is faced with a difficult decision between his family and his duty to the force. With all this happening, Molly and Josefina connect over their terrible experiences and Molly rethinks her life. What can you say about Penny Dreadful after the fourth Episode? This show rich in both historical context and violence certainly doesn't disappoint heading into episode 4. Tiago goes further down the rabbit hole following his love for Sister Molly even as she spasms onstage for his little sister Josefina after a brutal pat down from Officer Riley which not only lay the plans for his imminent demise but showcases just how disgusting and dreadful his character can be. Mateo slashing his neck with a straight edge razor oddly carried with it a feeling of calm, even though we know that spilling Blue Blood can only bring more to the already bloody streets of Los Angeles. Lastly, we get to see more of councilman Townsend as he dances into a new cheap motel with his Nazi caretaker. All in all, passion and blood boil over in this intensely violent show. Councilmen Townsend is practically on his knees pleading with the Nazis, and that ain’t the only reason he’s on his knees. Sister Molly and Tiago have the most adorable date out on the pier, but Popeye the Sailor Man shakes things up with her and her mother. Meanwhile, Mateo visits Fly Rico and his friend Rio who break out in the most iconic dance hall number of the 20th century. Also, Detective Lewis uncovers a new development in his Nazi pursuit and literally beats the answers he needs out of a suspect. On this episode of Penny Dreadful, we witness the aftermath of last week’s shooting. Raul is holding on for dear life to his life and his family is feeling the effects of his near-death experience. Mateo meets Fly Rico, who really is quite fly, during a heated encounter with some racist cops. Tiago still struggles to fit into the blue blood world, while balancing what is happening in his family life. We meet Sister Molly who may or may not be involved in the murder case Tiago is working, but one thing we do know is that there’s definitely some spark between them. Meanwhile, Detective Lewis dives deeper into the Nazi situation, and we witness more shootings and more deaths because of it. Through all of this, Maria is praying day in and day out for Raul’s recovery and finally calls on Santa Muerte’s help. Santa Muerte answers her prayers, but it’s not exactly what Maria thinks. In the premiere episode of Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels, we meet Tiago, the first Chicano Detective of the LAPD, who loves his family and his city. Tiago’s family consists of his mother Maria, who is a housemaid to a secret-Nazi doctor, his activist brother Raul, his teenage brother Mateo, and his little sister Josefina. In the midst of Tiago’s family crisis, we discover that beloved family man Dr. Kraft is actually a Nazi, and he isn’t the only Nazi in Los Angeles. We also meet Councilman Townsend, who is doing everything in his power to gentrify Los Angeles. Throughout all of this craziness, we also meet our "Angels of Death”, who wreak havoc on this city and its inhabitants. These storylines all intersect and we end the episode with a gruesome brotherly murder. All this and more on the Penny Dreadful: City of Angels AfterShow!
