Pep Talk with Yedidah: Faith Up!

When you know who and whose you are it changes everything. I want you to stand in truth. It will combat every lie around your identity and life. Your circumstance doesn't determine your worth. God does. It's time to be empowered. Get rid of the "junk mail" that may have come to stifle your progress and attack your identity. Your New Day starts the moment you choose to own God's promises and plan for your life. May these words inspire you toward greatness.

Ever feel like life is going so fast? I do. I remember the day I brought a pair of roller blades and decided to skate in Central Park. Smh. Why did I do that? Lol I learned a valuable lesson that day. Don't try roller blading in Central Park if you don't know how. Yet, God saw me. I literally think He may have chuckled and thought, "There goes my daughter Yedidah again." Lol God sees you friend even when it seems like life is spinning out of control. Ever felt like you were reaching for God, but felt air. I have. It didn't mean He wasn't there, instead he used those moment to build my faith and make me more resilient. Was it easy know, but I believe it was necessary. Let's have a talk about how and why I want you to persevere through the tough spots. Yesterday, I recorded Don't Give Up - Part 1. Today, I decided to record outside with the wind bustling through the trees and the acorns falling. I've reached a place in my life where I'm okay with being imperfectly perfect. Sure I love operating in excellence, but I have learned to give myself some grace and show up anyway. I want you to be there too. Social media has attempted to dictate what worth, true happiness and prestige is. So many are wondering when will my life be picture perfect too? But should the success barometer be based solely on wealth or what appears to be the “American Dream.” All depends on whose doing the dreaming. Wealth is more than finances, but also a mindset of contentmentent, hope and faith. Wealth is relationships where you feel valued, seen and heard by people who genuinely love you. Our lives and value were never to be based on a snapshot of someone else's happiness. “I'm me in the moment.” In the sad and happy moments; in the celebratory and temporary moments of seeming defeat, it's still me. I have learned God has been and is with me in those moments even when I wondered, “Why is this happening?” He was with me when I was leaping for joy. He was with me at the birth of my child and with me when I cried knowing I would have to raise her for a time as a solo mom. He's the same God in moments of joyful crescendos and temporary disbelief from trauma and tragedy. It all matters. Nope it wasn't “perfect.” God never said it would be. But you and I get to show up in a world that screams elitism and say “I’m valuable. I'm worth being in whatever space I occupy, and I'm imperfectly perfected. Yes, I belong here too.” I enjoyed recording this for you outside with the wind blowing and all. In this episode I want to wake something up inside of you that gives you permission to change everything that tries to hold you back. What are your thoughts saying? What are your emotions doing? Do you feel empowered and if not what will you do to change it? Don't settle. You were born with greatness inside of you, with God's DNA. Let me share a true story of when I was settling for a toxic relationship. One day God let me know I was settling and basically to stop it. Lol Yes we talk like that. He reminded me that I am royalty. Yet, I had to accept it in order to live from a better place. I want you to take some time and start to journal your feelings. Don't let them rule you. Take your power back and go for everything you have been called to do and be.

Have you ever been in a room full of people, yet felt totally alone? Or ever wanted to scream “Can’t you see I'm hurting?” I think we've all been there. Is like to encourage you and know life can get very interesting sometimes. But, don't give up. Somehow there is strength in the rough spots. It comes from God. I've learned to take all of my burdens to the Lord. They are just too much for me to carry. What about you? What do you do in difficult times? I pray this episode encourages you. Take a listen.

I want you to know it’s okay to experience sadness, but to also find ways to deal with prolonged emotional distress. You see, sometimes our emotions erupt like a can of hot soda. It’s not that your mad about the toilet seat being left up. Instead, your angry because you simply want to be heard. It’s not that your upset that the children won’t go to sleep, it’s that you feel like you want to be in control of how you raise them. You want to be respected. Usually it’s not the last emotion that causes overwhelming emotions. There’s something else underneath the surface that is saying, “Hey, I’m still here. Let’s pay attention to this.” Let’s have a little coaching and encouragement session. I want to motivate you to shift your mindset and emotions. We’ll do an exercise to help move you forward in this area. It’s going to be pretty helpful. So grab your pen, paper or alternate writing tool. You can do this with God. Let’s get started. I’d like to share a message of hope and inspiration with you. I think we can safely say the world is in a very interesting place. Grief, job loss and financial deficit along with uncertainty can cause you to feel very unsure. It can be easy to wonder if God sees you personal struggles. He does. I know this on a personal note. During the most intense moments of my life, God never abandoned me. Instead those moments were used to increase my faith and show me of God’s undeniable love, grace and power. May the grace of God sustain you and give you peace.

Today I interacted with two business owners who shared their need to pause and to reflect on their strengths. I had to go into their DM’s and let them know how much their post resonated with me. In this works of filters and fluff which is nice for entertainment, there are moments you need to step away from it all and celebrate and embrace those vulnerable moments. Mostly, embracing God in the midst of those moments makes all of the difference in the world. Grab a cup of tea and some tissues. Let’s sit and talk.

There's so much reality tv and social media happening until some believe they can cancel your destiny, like they cancel a sitcom. Actually it's the enemy and it's not true. When the God of the universe and Heaven is on your side nothing can stop you. Nothing can stop you! I want you to learn to say, “Victory is my name.”

One thing I have learned is there is a purpose to every season. Sometimes we are laughing, sometimes crying. Here's the thing absolutely nothing takes God by surprise. He knows about your WHOLE life. The struggles have made me stronger and increased my faith. How about you? Stopping by to say “Don’t give up in the middle. Flip it. Write a book. Make a course. Coach someone through the tough moments. Write a song, but don't waste the valuable lessons you have learned. Maybe it's time to flip it.

Ever knew it was time to step into something new? What held you back? You owe it to God and yourself to use those gifts. Don't hold back. Step forward.

Have you plugged into the power source today? I see God as a power source. Feeling tired and depleted? Plug in. Needing.to accomplish an important task? Plug in. Needing to speak up when you'd rather not? Plug in. You don't have to do it all by yourself. Plug in.

Today, I punched the punching bag super hard and super fast. Guess what it felt great. I wept today. I needed to. I thought about the past few years and the challenges that increased my faith while stretching me at the same time. Sometimes, you need a moment. We all do. It’s okay to feel vulnerable. I am many things to many people, but one thing I am not is a super hero .🙂 How about you? How are you doing i all that has happened in the world. Listen in.

Here’s what I found out, fear and procrastination are family. Don’t let them come to visit and stunt your progress. You’ve got things to do. Shift your mindset. Shift your life.

We live in a world where people are super opinionated. It’s up to you to choose to accept what is healthy communication and refute what is not. How do you see yourself? It’s important to learn what God says about you. As you and I embrace the truth and realize God refers to us as royalty, we can embrace this truth and live an empowered life. Let’s talk about this.

Most people don’t celebrate the caterpillar. They can’t see any worth in that stage. Neither do they celebrate the chrysalis stage, when the caterpillar is going through a severe metamorphosis. It’s not until it presses through the process and become a butterfly that it is celebrated. Yet, every part of the journey is necessary for survival. Your journey may be difficult at times. Your faith muscles may be stretched until you feel uncomfortable, but keep going. This is only part of your journey. There’s so much more.

Tonight I decided to read to you from my book “Don’t give up” chapter 13 “Between Here and There.” After listening to the replay I noticed the playback had some background noise. I decided not to re-record it, because there are imperfect moments and people who are yet valuable. So I decided to leave it up because the message is valuable. Let me share a few golden nuggets with you. It's time to faith Up!
