Do you believe in animal communicators? Linda was skeptical and Rita did not think it was possible, until we met Kara Udziela from Pets Eye View. Kara told us things she could not have known! So what's the point? What if we told you a good animal communicator can tell you about pain and illnesses your cat is hiding? What if you were accidentally doing something that hurt or bothered your cat? Would you want to know? These are just a few examples of what Kara helps us with, as well as energy.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pet-life-radio-the-1-pet-podcast-radio-network--6671137/support.

This is what you read when you open the book. "You are holding not only a tribute to a beloved dog but also a story of love, loss, grief, and healing. Our beloved dog, Boris, tragically perished while saving our family from a devastating house fire. We were transformed by this experience and honored him by naming our son after him. After a time of reflection and growth, I wanted to use my talents to pay tribute to him, honor all dogs, and create something worthy of a dog's love.” This is written by Jacqueline Lemieux-Bokor, the photographer & artist behind the beautiful tribute book, Remember Me As Sunshine. WARNING: This interview is raw, filled with emotion, some tears and a lot of love. This book was given to me by a mutual friend of ours, when my beloved Sophie passed away. I sobbed over it and have done so many times since. Meeting and then interviewing Jacqueline, who is not only an very talented artist but an incredible human, and sharing her story and this book is a tribute to all pet parents who’ve loved deeply and lost and it is an inspired way to find solace and celebrate these beautiful beings we loved so much. I hope you enjoy.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pet-life-radio-the-1-pet-podcast-radio-network--6671137/support.

This week, we’re joined by the amazing Samantha Suppiah, a vegan stray cat carer and animal welfare organizer in Metro Manila in the Philippines. Today, Samantha talks us through each pillar of organizing mass biosecure spay and neuter events (called kapon in the Philippines), focusing on ensuring the safety of their patients via standardizing protocols and using methods such as social distancing. Samantha’s scientific approach to stray-centric cat care and neonate kitten care redefines the meaning of considerate and high-quality colony care. This ultimately led her on a journey of trying to run these events well but realizing she couldn’t guarantee their safety without the enthusiastic participation of vets and volunteers. After reflecting on her efforts, Samantha decided to end her plans to organize these kapon events and closed this episode with a take-home message of - if you can’t do it safely, don’t do it at all.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/pet-life-radio-the-1-pet-podcast-radio-network--6671137/support.

Chris and Jaimee discuss how to give your dog the best chance of being safe and predictable off leash. It requires establishing the right relationship and building the skills and teaching the commands that will lead to success. We also discuss the importance of knowing and following local leash laws and what to do if an off-leash dog approaches you in an unwanted way.
