Michelle has a mobile shop in a van that is helping us refill and unwrap. You can bring along your containers, weigh up as much as you need, and stock up on dried storage cupboard staples such as, pasta, grains and pulses, baking goods, cereals, herbs and spices. PeCAN is offering you the opportunity to visit a local ‘Warm Open Home’ to speak to the homeowner directly about the energy saving improvements they have made. You can look at the technology, ask residents about the installation process, and find out how much they are really saving on their energy bills as a result.  Patricia Exley told us about the project. https://petersfieldcan.org/projects/home-energy/warm-open-homesSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A brand-new cookbook featuring over 100 recipes has been brought to life by the students, teachers, and families of the Froxfield School community. What started as a simple idea from the Friends of Froxfield School (FoFS)—the school’s parent-led fundraising group—quickly grew into a project that included everyone. Jo Gray met parent and active FoFS member Sarah Dunsford, Headteacher Mrs Farrow, and some of the pupils. We will share details of how to buy the cookbook on our website.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Town Council have appointed Jacob Gibson, 27, as the new Ranger, in partnership with the South Downs National Park Authority, to oversee the plans for the ecology and conservation of the Council’s green open spaces, including the Heath and Pond. He tells Mike Waddington that he brings a lot of experience and says there is much to build on here, and great volunteers and projects. He has worked on a lot of projects in Plymouth, the New Forest and also over seas in Panama and Nicaragua. He has a fondness for bats and had wanted to work in conservation since hearing of global warming in primary school. Many projects are to be launched so keep an eye on the Council's website and Facebook and of course, here at Shine Radio.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With a background in teaching then law, I’ve found my calling in trustee roles with local charities, church volunteer activities, and school governance. Volunteering with KA took an interesting turn in 2018, when I joined the staff team to set up a second centre in Alton.  Now I manage the Youthlink programme, networking with agencies, schools, charities and other organisations that support young people.”See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
