Adam Plantinga knows the answers to all these questions. That’s because he’s been a cop for almost twenty years and he’s smart. And funny. And honest. Thankfully for us he’s turned his life into best-selling books that share his sometimes shocking, breathtaking experiences and insights- books that screenwriters and crime novelists use to help them create believable characters and stories. Turns out being a cop is not at all like what we see on television and in the movies. What do cops think about the communities they serve? Racial profiling? Gun control? Interrogation? Diversity training? Fearing for one’s life? Dealing with the bad ten percent ninety percent of the time? Their mental health? What do they really need? If you care about how to understand and help the men and women who keep you safe then you need to get yourself settled in and listen to Dr. Phil’s conversation with San Francisco Police Officer and Author Adam Plantinga. I Love dr. Phil and I can understand the self-promoting but not every single show every single day. On his podcast and on the TV show. I get so sick of it. sounds more like bragging that anything else sometimes

IDK. It is an issue of euphemistic semantics. IF sexual activity is intimacy and sexual activity is equal to acceptance THEN acceptance and intimacy cannot exist without sexual activity. This is false. Intimacy is a euphemism for the phrase ‘sexual activity’ making it impossible for those with an exceptional non-sexual level of intimacy to use it as a descriptor for these relationships. If the conversation of and about sexual activity is to become common, the language should shed its embarrassment making it easier for the individual. Just saying.

The word is PHIL . I don’t know how to work the Castbox just yet. The drugs episode for the star athlete is heartbreaking. I have chronic pain and the people who abuse the opioids has made it harder for those will really need the pain killers. I have been on morphing for over 11.5years. In June, things came crashing down and I wanted to leave this world. Went out of state to look for help my home state docs had no solution, South Carolina had no solution and I headed to Illinois by my brother and brother in law. No one knew what was going on. I took a drive with my brother in law and told him I didn’t want live anymore! Words he has never heard out of this outgoing person he knew in the past. He knew I was serious. He tried to help me. We were turned away from doctors told I would be dead if I got off of morphine and wouldn’t even try and help me because the doc would lose his license for I would be dead. My brother in law did a Hail Mary.....Since September 2018, I have been off of morphine and take something else to deaden the brain. I am happy, do more and continue to come out of this cloud. If I had more money to get a car I would get therapy to help with all the new things I am experiencing that I have forgotten about. I am walking more than a block now!!! I want to live! I can do things now vs being bed ridden the majority of the month. I can go to the store and take my time to look for things. I actually feel like doing things whereas in the past I didn’t even want to take a shower, the pain would win for the morphine wasn’t working anymore unless I increased the dosage. I am alive and almost completely happy. I just have to many obstacles st the moment to learn on my own.

Dr. Phil, I am watching your show that aired on 11/13/2019. This episode is literally the parallel to what has happened to my son. The star talented athlete that hurt his knee, had surgery and has been hooked on drugs ever since. I tried so hard to help him but of course you know what happened. I am in tears watching this. I had some very realizations watching your show and what I had done thinking I was trying to help. As of right now, I have not talked to or seen my son in over three years. At the end , the what if is what started to set in. I miss my son so much but could not continue to live in his destructive world. It has been extremely hard walking away but I had to. I pray for him daily asking for God to show him a better path. Thank you for the shows you do and the truths you bring !

I have never done this. I really don't even do Facebook. so hope this works and gets were it needs to go to Dr.Phil. Ok I would like to know why you have never talked about the other side of pain meds. like the people that really need these meds. Now that are not getting what they need..I beat cancer 2 time but this last time. The treatment did a lot of things to my body. now I live in pain. I life in my bed now for my med are being taken a way. what are people like to do.. I have lost to friend because of this reason in the last 2 years. I was so hope to have a life when I was done with my cancer treatment, but here I'm in bed crying wish I would have never done the treatment. I have had a back survey that made my worst. There is more, but text.... I am sorry for the people that have lost loves because of pain meds but I never hear about the people the use them like they are too and now can't get help because of their pain are being taking down or off..

SMH. What about those that have no desire/drive at all? Why is that so difficult for the partner to accept it not them or they are being "rejected"? Banging my head against the brick wall. Another confirmation I am not of this world.

It's nice to get good old common horse sense with the ability to stop , write and soak it in. I need to break down the insanity of my mother's abuse. The break down takes the"victimizing". away from me. Thank you Dr.Phil. Amy Lee Youngstown Ohio
