My thoughts on if you need a wedding disco to run until 2am.
What time should a Wedding Band break? This really depends on loads of factors including the venue, start time, how the band plays their set, size of the crowd, etc but I’ll go over it in general terms. Most professional wedding bands in Ireland do a non-stop set so the guests generally do need a break if you want to keep the floor full all night including the disco. Just a quick mention for the Weddsonline.ie survey that recently came out. According to the survey, the average price for a wedding band in 2022 was €2,247 which I would say maybe slightly on the low side. Every band is different so you can never judge them by price alone. If I was working out my wedding budget for 2023 / 2024 I would include a price of €2500 for the wedding band which gives you some more room to find the perfect band. Should I have Irish dancers at my wedding? I think it’s nice to have them but the timing is very important! I’d recommend getting them on during the tea break or even before the first dance. It’s never a good idea to start the band and then have to stop after 15 or 20 minutes to let them perform…That just breaks up the band set and loses playing time!
