All the games reviewed as usual with thoughts on who is and isn't happy with their season and early thoughts on expectations for next season includes some analysis of why FPL towers need to be careful with some of their pricing when the game launches for 2024/25. A big thank you to all our listeners and viewers for your support throughout the season! On the penultimate Planet FPL Gameweek review Podcast of the season Suj and James discuss the four games played since Monday that saw Aston Villa claim a point against Liverpool despite being 3-1 down, Manchester City going back top after beating a spirited Tottenham in a unique atmosphere in North London and Chelsea look favourites for a Europa League place after beating Brighton whilst Newcastle were beaten at Manchester United and there's a heated debate about Erik Ten Hag's future. There's a heavy focus on players to but in Gameweek 38 which includes discussion on players to buy to protect position, who's looking popular and some big differentials to consider. Plus, Reece James red cards per inute vs Christopher Nkunku's goals per minutes checked, Tottenham's tactical tweaks and why they troubled City in detail and why the Podcast has this stupid title! On the weekend Review of Gameweek 37 Suj and James discuss all the games from the weekend which included confirmation of Burnley's relegation and Luton Town will almost certainly be joining them; while Manchester City and Arsenal both won to nil to confirm that the title race will go to the final day, but how James' Tottenham do against City tomorrow is likely to be decisive. But do Tottenham even want to win!? Bench Boosters have mainly done well, clean sheets for Arsenal and Everton have helped but there was pain for owners of Bruno Fernandes and Callum Wilson owners after their weekend no-shows. Plus, there's a focus on one week punts for Sunday's finale, and that may include interest in a Crystal Palace team who are in red hot form. They won again at Wolves, who themselves travel to Anfield on final day and Liverpool assets may well be of interest too subject to what we see at Villa Park tonight. And there's plenty more too consider from others too! Suj and James discuss another dramatic week in FPL where the top 10k average hit 100 and James exceeded that to enter into the top 100k but for Suj, the less said the better! All the games reviewed as usual which included Suj and James teams getting slapped respectively and conceding a combined 9 at Stamford Bridge and Anfield. And Manchester United didn't want to be left out as they crumbled to a 4-0 loss at Crystal Palace last night. The title race continues to look like it will go down to the wire as Arsaenal and Manchester City recorded comfortable victories which featured Erling Haaland scoring four and Nottingham Forest claimed a crucial victory at Sheffield United. Amongst the analysis of the games is a heavy focus on FPL assets for Double Gameweek 37 and the final day and many FPL managers will have a defensive crisis on their hands ahead of the Double but the closer it gets the more it feels like single gameweek players shouldn't necessarily be overlooked and there are solutions offered for Bruno Fernandes owned if Manchester United's talisman doesn't make it for trhe double. Suj and James review the weekend of Gameweek 35 and for many Wildcarders it wasn't the success that many had hoped for (so far), particularly with Arsenal's Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka returning well in Arsenal's North London Derby victory that has left James with a sore throat. And it was a strange game that features in the discussion from all the games. As usual all the games covered including Chelsea's excellent display at Villa that yielded only a point and Manchester City overcame a period of difficulty to maintain their advantage in the race for the title that also left Forest looking nervously over their shoulder at not just Luton, but now Burnley as well. FPL assets for one week, two weeks and all weeks considered which includes those required for just 36 and 38 which may bring a number of enabling differential forwards to the table that Bench Boosters won't consider. Plus, best Arsenal assets covered, injuries have inevitably struck again and James discusses the awkward feeling for Tottenham fans in Gameweek 37 when Manchester City visit. And it is likely to have Fantasy consequences! Suj and James review the 6 games played in midweek as Arsenal and Manchester City went big in their pursuit of the title but Liverpool's attempt to keep pace hits the skids in the Merseyside Derby at Everton. Now focus turns from Free Hit 34 to Wildcard 35 with Suj (probably) and James both on Wildcard. On the Podcast there's a big lean in the discussion to covering FPL assets from the teams who played in midweek which features 5 of the 6 teams who have a Double in GW37 and whether assets from the likes of Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Everton and Liverpool should go alongside them for the run-in. James also gives a detailed view on Tottenham assets who have two upcoming doubles before revealing his intended Wildcard (subject to team news) and there's one player he's desperate to have but isn't likely to fit in. On the weekend review of DGW34 Suj returns to join James to discuss the 7 games played so far and for those who took the plunge on Crystal Palace attacking assets it was likely a good weekend with all of Eze, Olise and Mateta returning well. Arsenal and Everton defensive assets also returned well but there was large rotation for Liverpool in their victory at Fulham with Trent Alexander-Arnold being the one that got away for James. But at least he did have decent coverage of Palace, unlikely a certain someone... All the games discussed with thoughts already focusing beyond the rest of this double Gameweek and towards the final 4 weeks, which particular for James means thinking beyond just the 6 clubs who double in Gameweek 37. But those 6 will still make up the majority of slots for Wildcarders but are there any good defensive assets to pick from!? Plus, more VAR controversy, especially at Goodison which led to a stinging and unusual response from Forest, thoughts from the FA Cup semi finals including the heartbreaking near miss for Coventry against Manchester United and Suj reveals that he's leaving the country, permanently. Clayton joins James for the Gameweek 33 review as there were big swings in the battle to finish first and fourth respectively after Liverpool and Arsenal both lost at home, with The Gunners beaten by Champions League chasing Aston Villa who are now favourites for fourth after Tottenham were dismantled at Newcastle. It was a difficult weekend for many FPL managers but those with Newcastle assets may have done particularly well and Erling Haaland returned well for captainers despite some fortune (or misfortune!) in his returns. All the games reviewed as usual with a focus very much on the forthcoming Double Gameweek that features Liverpool, Arsenal and a Crystal Palace team likely to get plenty of interest. Should managers also be looking at the 4 others team who double? And there's also a focus on the 6 teams who double in 37 and what Wildcarders may want to do in Gameweek 35. Suj and James review all the Premier League games from Gameweek 32 with all the Fantasy relevant conversation as Arsenal went back in front on goal difference (much to James' annoyance) in the title race after their dominant win at Brighton and Liverpool failed to convert first half dominance as they dropped two points at Manchester United. While Man City aren't going away and are only a point behind after Kevin De Bruyne starred in their 4-2 victory at Crystal Palace. Within the review of the games there's discussion on one week punts for the FH34 WC35 crowd, assets to carry through who double in 34 or 37 and why we shouldn't neccessarily overlook those who don't double in either with Brentford perhaps the standout from that perspective. Plus, the impact of the Chelsea-Tottenham fixture now going into GW35 and the difficulty of transitioning from 34 to 35/37, captaincy for upcoming gameweeks and lots more. Clayton joins James to discuss all the midweek action from GW31 that ended with big drama at Stamford Bridge as Cole Palmer's hat-trick saw him match Phil Foden's 20 point haul from the night before. James own both but still got a red arrow! It was also a midweek full of captaincy fails with no shows for Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka whilst Mo Salah returned a 1 pointer after being subbed in the 59th minute! There's discussion on weekend captaincy for GW32 but with Heung-Min Son also likely to be an option along with those previously mentioned and James ponders a move for a Goalkeeper. As usual all the games reviewed with all the relevant FPL chat on each team and there's a very different intro to normal as the lads went back to record again as upon conclusion of the Podcast the Premier League surprising announced that Chelsea and Tottenham will play their rearranged game in Gameweek 35 rather than 36. It's a late Sunday night Podcast for Suj and James to discuss all the fallout from Gameweek 30 ahead of the quick turnaround for Tuesday's Gameweek 31 deadline. There's discussion on the drab Man City-Arsenal encounter that means it's now advantage Liverpool in the title race following their victory against Brighton. There's rage at West Ham's defeat at Newcastle having led 3-1, Tottenham came from behind again to beat a spirited Luton, how a bright start for Wolves fizzled out at Villa and somehow Brentford nearly lost despite dominating Manchester United. There's FPL relevant discussion on every club with many managers planning their routes towards either Gameweek 34 or 37 but many may be hampered again by a sea of flags and that includes to popular Chelsea and Newcastle assets that may make life difficult for current Wildcarders. And it was such a good week for Suj that James looks set to copy his moves for GW31 in a bid to captain Mo Salah. Tuesday on Planet FPL: *NOT* The GW31 Deadline Stream, Live stream at 12pm GMT. With the fixtures confirmed for Double Gameweek 34 on Saturday morning Suj and James cover one more time strategy for Chip usage for the rest of the season. And for James there is now clarity of what's best for him, but will Suj follow and do the same? However, not everything is clear. Tottenham have strangely been left with a blank in Gameweek 34 and it does raise the possibility of a Treble Gameweek in 37 for Tottenham and possibly Chelsea too! That won't happen though, will it? Teams are broken into 3 groups, those who won't double, those who double in 34 and those who double in 37. There's coverage of every club and when they will or won't be of interest and solutions offered for those with all chips left and for those struggling with what they have. Bench Boost 34 v 37 covered, so to is Haaland v Salah and why some will be using all their chips in 4 consecutive gameweeks near the end. Play It Your Way. Suj and James discuss the disaster of probably the worst Blank Gameweek ever as no player owned by over 20% in the top 100,000 FPL managers returned! And there's chat on Double Gameweek projections following the conclusion of the weekend's FA Cup Quarter Finals, where victories for Coventry and Manchester United mean the landscape of expectations will change again! All the games of the disaster blank, including why despite defeat Brentford should't necesserily be overlooked for the run-in and similar applies to Fulham assets who were part of a thumping win against James' Tottenham. A blip or something more concerning for Heung-Min Son and co to contend with? Plus, James runs through his new double gameweek projections, and it's very much a 50-50 split for where the games could go and a battle over TV rights and when one particular game is shown, is likely to define what goes where between Gameweeks 34 and 37. How big should FPL managers commit to the two doublers? Is Dominic Solanke the definite go-to captain for the Gameweek? And with James on the hunt for a defender there's a theme of looking at defensive assets throughout this Podcast. As usual all the games reviewed, including Alphonse Areola hauling at Everton, Heung-Min Son rewarding buyers with a goal late on against Crystal Palace, Villa leaving it late at Luton and the Sunday wins for Bournemouth and a Phil Foden inspired Manchester City. James is joined by Clayton to discuss the weekend football in the Premier League and for those who went heavy on Double Gameweek players it's not been hugely successful so far with many blanking and even those who did return may now be injured and that could include one of the few players with a Double who did really well, substitute and returning talisman Mo Salah. And so far it's disappointment for 1.3 million FPL managers who Triple Captained Erling Haaland who blanked despite having 9 shots in Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Chelsea. To and to the misery of some, popular players who may have been sacrificed for Doublers returned well including Bukayo Saka, Dominic Solanke and Ollie Watkins. James explains what prompted his decision to buy Saka back for a successful -4 despite selling only last week and Clayton is now up into the top 30,000 after another successful weekend. All 9 games covered including tactical notes from the 6 games the lads watched live, why 4 teams who won away this weekend may all be on radar heading into the forthcoming blank gameweek and lots more... Suj and James review the 9 weekend games played in GW24 and for both Arsenal's 6-0 victory against West Ham meant it was a bad FPL week as Gunners assets returned well with Gabriel benched and in James' case Bukayo Saka sold! But it was of course it was Suj's team that suffered a record home league defeat. Captaining Erling Haaland at least brought some relief, but City did struggle to break down a resolute Everton. City assets are obviously on radar as are those who also double at Brentford, Liverpool and Luton and final decisions ahead of the double may well be impacted by the status of Trent Alexander-Arnold's fitness. There's tactical insight into Arsenal's stunning victory, Kieran Trippier's role change for Newcastle at Forest that freed up Bruno Guimaraes, how Brighton's man to man game at Tottenham had success but ultimately cost them the game in which a returning player from International duty hugely impressed James. Plus, conversation on all the games including Manchester United's crucial win at Aston Villa and Sheffield United's surprise victory at Luton, planning towards GW29, managing GW26 and lots more...
