A sombre journey to Planet Normal today, as Allison and Liam learn that the father of Sara Sharif has been found guilty of the 10-year-old’s murder just before recording. Co-pilot Pearson decries that a little girl could have been a victim to such violence in modern Britain, and what it says about integration in our country.Plus they discuss the events of Syria, and co-pilot Halligan notes that the 'tectonic plates of Western politics is shifting' as mainstream European politicians use events as a chance to call for Syrians in their nations to return home.Boarding the rocket of right-thinking this week are co-founders of savetheparish.com, the impressively named Admiral Sir James Burnell-Nugent, and journalist Emma Thompson. As co-pilot Pearson circles Heathrow waiting for clearance to land, Liam is joined by Planet Normal Cosmonaut Supreme, Baroness Claire Fox.There's been much madness to dissect since the rocket's last orbit. How is the new Labour government handling the Summer chaos?Claire is frustrated that the Tory leadership contest seems to be leaving the country without a strong opposition and that it might leave the Conservatives unable to challenge the Labour party.Whilst Liam is optimistic that new Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, has the potential to pull off the reform the National Health Service needs to get back on track.Stowing away on the rocket this week is author and Conservative Peer, Jon Moynihan who expresses his concern at Labour’s economic policies, saying they won’t create growth by ‘just cutting wages’.And there is a delve into the fumbling Planet Normal mailbag which is overflowing from the recent Summer break…Read more from Liam: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/liam-halligan/ |Read more from Allison: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/a/ak-ao/allison-pearson/ |Read more from Jon: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/08/18/uk-economy-growth-social-democracy-bankrupt-conservative/ |Need help subscribing or reviewing? As summer comes to a close on Planet Normal, in this the third and final of the three part best of the rocket series, our co-pilots take a look back at some of their most explosive voyages on the rocket of right thinking from the year so far.In March, the co-pilots interviewed author and filmmaker Martin Durkin about his latest film Climate The Movie - The Cold Truth. The film takes issue with what he calls ‘climate alarmism’ - a trend which, Durkin says, does not reflect scientific reality. And finally, in April, Liam interviewed Tory Peer Dr Tony Sewell. Dr Sewell Chaired the committee which produced the highly-influential 2021 report of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities. I love the show and mostly agree with our esteemed pilots, but I cannot believe that Mordaunt's trans views will attract mainstream Conservative voters. I would never vote for her as PM, nor for anyone else who pretends that women can have penises.

when will these two learn? it's not about getting drivers into electric cars. It's about getting all but a select few out of cars. If our rulers have their way, the age of personal transport and freedom of movement will be at an end.

In this week's episode you questioned the need for COP26 and mocked the idea that we need to stop using fossil fuel boilers. You claim to be the voice of sweet reason, I am totally shocked that you appear to be a climate change denier. Chris Knowles

Totally agree with Sharon Davies' points, particularly the one about Testosterone levels - which women are not allowed to take advantage of in women only events. This seems like discrimination against women and would be unacceptable..

Really good interview with Richard Madeley. There is a story right under broadcast media's nose but why aren't they following it?

Each week this podcast adds a few minutes of sensible thinking in amongst the current Covid-19 madness displayed by the Government and certain well known media organisations. This is a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ episode

Planet Normal is a wonderful podcast, full of brilliant insights and refreshingly honest. The interviews with Shaun Bailey and Trevor Philips were first class. Thank you for launching your much needed rocket to Planet Normal!

I loved this first edition of Planet Normal. a clever blend of humour and serious discussion about the need for an end to lockdown.
