This episode is great for agile leaders, scrum masters, dev teams, software managers and of course the Product Owner! We'll explore some ways to diagnose and triage this problem we have and learn how to say bye bye to our backlog hijacker!Thank you all for your continued support and sharing the podcast! Too many times product owners overdo it when it comes to the Sprint backlog. The sprint backlog is owned by the dev team, not by the product owner. This episode will focus on one or two ideas that may help you back into the product backlog. Remember, the product backlog serves as an input for the team and that input goes into a process, which in this case allows the team to create a sprint goal. This is part two of the series to help the product owner and agile development team with new thinking patterns and a new perspective to improve the sprint backlog.Help me stay ad free on planet product owner if you feel led!https://coff.ee/planetproductowner

Glad to be back with this episode! And yes, I. AM. BACK !The agile mirror is one that we often take for granted. Sometimes it’s nice just to reset, realign and just get back to the center. This episode will set up the next 3 to 5 episodes for the product owner, scrum master, team member and even leadership to help reorient and get back to the center. Why are we even doing agile development? Have we thought about that? Let’s dive in!!I would be grateful if you would help me keep the podcast ad-free!https://buymeacoffee.com/planetproductowner
We are in the business of exploring, defining and solving the unknown. But that does not mean we blindly commit to work. How can we help the product owner and product manager in the agile development space to become more proactive? How can we better qualify what we’re asking the team to do? How can we shore up our commitments? Today, let’s focus on three topics that we need to address as a product owner or product manager with the agile or scrum teams input and feedback to make sure we are ready to accept the challenge of commitment.
Too many times we fall into habits that we carry over from the days of old. There’s nothing wrong with the days of old, in fact, we can learn a lot from the old days. But what we want to learn from the past and we are actually apply new techniques from thinking patterns we develop. This episode is beneficial for the agile product owner, product manager, agile team, and anyone in your release train or program. if you have ever been in the position of taking the really large document and transitioning it into your actual team for development, this episode is for you!
In this episode I’ll wrap up and summarize the six keys for a successful practice. If you are a product owner or a product manager in the agile space, this episode will summarize the skills covered with a reminder of why we want to develop them and how to tie them back to protect your team, your backlog and the health of your practice.
With this episode, we are finally through the six keys of success for the product owner or product manager in the agile development and delivery space. Hooray! This episode will close out those six keys that we talked about. Sometimes you can equate the skills to more than just product, owner and product manager roles. We just wanna make sure that we are working on the right thing and that we are doing the right thing right. Combining these six keys will make you a very successful product owner or product manager. I know this because I have been there. Thank you for listening, please tell a friend, and always I’d love to hear from you! scott@planetproductowner.org
The old saying for the agile or scrum team is to be close to the work. We hear this a lot, but what does that really mean? Especially if we are a product owner or a product manager trying to understand what problems we want to solve. When we were in the business of discovering the unknown and solving problems, we really need to understand what it is we are actually doing. By developing and practicing the keys or skill sets that I am outlining in these episodes, your practice as a product owner or product manager in the actual space will become really effective.
This episode turns the corner for us as we journey through the last 3 of 6 keys for success in your practice. If you are struggling with getting alignment with the team during their working iteration or sprint, this key to success will help you keep that front porch clean! It is important for the agile product owner or product manager to continually refine and master some skills that will make you most effective. So if you’re looking for some help on how to improve your practice, you’ve come to the right place! It really doesn’t matter if you are a new product owner and are looking for some basic agile coaching or if you are a seasoned, in this field, we can and should always learn. So welcome to the agile coaching corner of the universe called Planet Product Owner.
Key #3 of the 6 keys to having a successful agile product practice! How do we ensure that we are getting what we want? Putting the six keys together will definitely help us on the journey to becoming a better product owner or product manager in the practice of agile development. What are we focusing on? When we’re in a large scale development effort or even smaller ones, there are a few things that we have to make sure we are doing to ensure our success. Remember, we value working software, not just stories! If you are looking for agile coaching, practical tips and the art of being a product owner or product manager, you’re in the right place! Welcome to the journey, my friends!
Being a successful agile product owner or product manager takes a little work. It’s not just doing what is in the book or described in the certifications. In my experience, there are 6 keys to success. This is key #2!
