In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods recap the week nine games in the Big Ten, which featured three top ten teams in action, and two of them receiving scares from their opponents.
On Friday, Rutgers went to Los Angeles to take on USC, and it was all Trojans, with the game eventually ending in a comfortable blowout.
Saturday, No. 3 Penn State and No. 4 Ohio State each received scares from Wisconsin and Nebraska respectively before ultimately prevailing. No. 20 Illinois proved to be no match for No. 1 Oregon, while Northwestern struggled to do much of anything against Iowa. Minnesota crushed Maryland, while Michigan proved to be a little too much for Jonathan Smith and the Spartans in year one.
As always, the killer Cignetti continued to roll with a convincing win over Washington at home.
As usual Ryan and Dave end the podcast answering listener emails and questions from the YouTube chat.

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods recap the 7 games in the Big Ten conference for week eight that featured the buzzsaw that is Indiana football as the Hoosiers absolutely dismantled Nebraska 56-7.
The action got started on Friday night with Oregon's trip to Purdue, shutting out the Boilermakers who scored 49 points the previous week. In the Saturday morning games we saw Indiana roll, Illinois take down Michigan in the only battle between ranked teams and UCLA getting a rare long travel victory, edging out Rutgers for the Bruins first Big Ten win. Later we saw Maryland rush the field after upsetting USC 29-28, Michigan State looking better at home against Iowa and Wisconsin bringing Northwestern back to reality.
Dave went 5-2 in his picks and is back to .500 while Ryan dropped a bit going 3-4 but still 8 games above .500 overall.

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods preview the 7 games in the Big Ten conference for week eight, including another ranked-on-ranked matchup with No. 24 Michigan coming off a bye on the road taking on No. 22 Illinois coming off that 50-49 overtime thriller. Both teams are 2-1 in conference play and need a victory to keep any hopes of making the conference championship game alive.
Outside of that game in Champaign, the rest of the slate doesn't pack the punch that we saw last weekend. Friday night the hot Oregon Ducks will try to avoid a letdown on their long trip to face Purdue. Nebraska is 5-1 and could jump into the rankings with a win over No. 16 Indiana. UCLA is back on the road for one of the longest trips in the conference, taking on Rutgers in Piscataway. USC has a similar-length road trip taking on Maryland and Iowa heads to East Lansing to take on Michigan State.

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods recap all 13 Big Ten week three games, reveal their newest Big Ten Power rankings, discuss how their picks against the spread went (Ryan was 6-4, David 5-5) and update their mythical Pac-12 Power Rankings. They also talk about the latest news in the conference realignment world where the Pac-12 is raiding the Mountain West, taking San Diego State, Fresno State, Boise State and Colorado State in an attempt to rebuild the once proud Conference of Champions.
There were a lot more blowouts this week than what we have seen so far this season, some that were good for the conference and some that were bad. The Ducks pasted Oregon State on the road while Minnesota, Nebraska and Michigan State won by a combined score of 101-3 against overmatched opponents. But in more important games Wisconsin wasn't competitive against Alabama, Notre Dame spanked Purdue 66-7, Washington State topped the Huskies in the Apple Cup and Michigan struggled to beat Arkansas State in the Big House.
Maryland did bounce back with a nice win on the road at Virginia and Indiana continues to impress, humiliating UCLA in the Rose Bowl for both team's Big Ten openers.

There were some crazy results across this conference this weekend and overall it certainly wasn't as a good of a showing as the B1G had in the opening weekend. On the good side Ohio State, Indiana, USC and Minnesota won by a combined score of 229-3 and all four covered the spread plus Illinois upset No. 19 Kansas and Nebraska crushed Prime and CU. On the bad side Michigan got rolled by Texas, Iowa lost to rival Iowa State, Duke handled Northwestern in 2OT and Oregon needed a last-second field goal to beat Boise State.
The guys give their thoughts on each and every game from the weekend and praise the teams that handled their business while panning the teams that failed to meet our high expectations as Big Ten football experts.

They guys share which programs they feel will make the conference championship game, which teams have a legit shot at making the playoffs, which can make a bowl game and which will likely struggle in the newly expanded conference.
With week one of the season now upon us, Ryan and Dave will continue their tradition of previewing and picking each and every game against the spread. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are continuing their Big Ten season previews with Purdue, Northwestern and Michigan State
First up we welcome back Bill Bender from the Sporting News to talk about a pair of Big Ten programs, the Northwestern Wildcats and Purdue Boilermakers.
David Braun took over a Northwestern's program that was in disarray last season but surprised everyone by winning 8 games and Big Ten Coach of the Year. He will try to improve on that mark in 2024 with a tougher schedule and most home games on Martin Field while Ryan Field is rebuilt over the next two seasons.
Ryan Walters is also heading into year two of his Purdue tenure and is looking to move the program forward after a 4-8 campaign in 2023.
Next we welcome in Stephen Brooks from SpartanTailgate to talk about the major disruption this Spartans program went through after the abrupt firing of Mel Tucker followed by hiring away Jonathan Smith from Oregon State. We talk about numerous MSU football topics including star transfer quarterback Aidan Chiles, rebuilding the Michigan State offensive line, replacing Derrick Harmon and Simeon Barrow Jr. at defensive tackle and who can step up at wide receiver.

In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are continuing their Big Ten season previews with Penn State and Iowa.
First up Daniel Gallen from Lions247 joins the show to talk about what head coach James Franklin has planned for the 2024 college football season and if this Penn State program can finally get over the hump and make an appearance in the now expanded College Football Playoffs. We'll talk about some of the major changes to the roster, bringing in a pair of new coordinators and the progress of quarterback Drew Allar.
Next we welcome in David Eickholt from HawkeyeInsider to talk about how head coach Kirk Ferentz plans to improve Iowa's offense that was one of the worst in FBS last season. The Hawkeyes have been exceptional on defense and special teams, but the limitations on offense have prevented Iowa from achieving anything beyond winning the Big Ten West. Even with divisions eliminated, Iowa's schedule is still very manageable and another appearance in the conference championship game is within reach if the offense can turn things around.
