The Buffaloes had one of the more eventful seasons in college football with new head coach Deion Sanders shaking things up with some massive roster restructuring and then made some assistant coaching changes after the 4-8 campaign. We chat with Adam about what changes Coach Prime has been making in the off-season as we head into spring football, what lessons were learned after the 2023 roster overhaul, the new Big 12 football schedule and what the expectations are for the Buffs in 2024. The Utes and longtime head coach Kyle Whittingham are poised to make a run at a Big 12 title in 2024 with lot of talent returning including star quarterback Cam Rising. The guys talk to Bartle about some of the chances to the roster, some of the impact players fans should look out for this spring and how this team is getting ready for life in a new conference. The guys also talk about the end of a disappointing era with the departure of George Kliavkoff as the Pac-12 (2) conference commissioner. The conference announced the mutual parting of ways and followed that up with an announcement that Teresa Gould was taking over as conference commissioner, becoming the first female commissioner of a Power Five conference. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio talking about this crazy February breaking news that Chip Kelly bailed on Westwood to take the offensive coordinator position with his buddy Ryan Day at Ohio State, leaving UCLA without a head coach. Our own David Woods breaks down how it all went down including Kelly's attempts to get an OC job in the NFL before Bill O'Brien's departure to become the head coach at Boston College opened up an intraconference soft landing spot for Kelly. A few days after Kelly's departure restarted the college football coaching carousel, athletic director Martin Jarmond found his man. Jarmond interviewed nearly a dozen potential candidates before landing on former UCLA running back and longtime assistant DeShaun Foster. Following the season Foster left Westwood to become the running backs coach at the Las Vegas Raiders, but was lured back for an opportunity to run the Bruins program as they head into the Big Ten. Dave and Ryan both give their thoughts on the hire and what challenges Foster will face taking over for a head coach that didn't recruit, didn't raise money and didn't leave much in the cupboard for Foster to compete in any conference let alone the stacked Big Ten. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio checking in with SunDevilSource.com publisher Chris Karpman to get updates on everything going on with the Arizona State football program this off-season. Last week the Big 12 released its 2024 football schedule so we start off talking to Chris about the new teams the Sun Devils will face in the upcoming season. In December Kenny Dillingham went out and hired offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo to replace the failed Beau Baldwin experiment. The former UNLV head coach will oversee a quarterback battle between Jaden Rashada and Michigan State transfer Sam Leavitt this spring. The guys also discuss offensive lineman Jalen Klemm, son of Patriots offensive line coach Adrian Klemm, transferring to Arizona State after playing in seven games at Washington last season. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio checking in with WildcatAuthority.com publisher Jason Scheer to get an update on all of the happenings with Arizona football. Scheer will join the show over the phone to kick things off and give everyone an update on what's been going on in Tucson including the newly released Big 12 football schedule for the 2024 season. At first glance there are some really interesting games on the slate with trips to Kansas State, Utah, BYU and UCF and home games against Texas Tech, Colorado, West Virginia, Houston and Arizona State. They also get into all of the coaching and athletic director turnover at Arizona with Jedd Fisch departing for Washington, Brent Brennan coming in from San Jose State and the school parting ways with AD Dave Heeke amid financial turmoil in the department. Scheer also gives an update on the current roster with players coming and going in the transfer portal and a few key surprises that decided to stay in Tucson. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio talking about some of the crazy drama in the desert around the University of Arizona. When Kalen DeBoer left Washington for Alabama, it opened up an opportunity for Jedd Fisch to head to Seattle, leaving the Wildcats high and dry. That really pissed off Arizona booster Humberto Lopez, who felt he had a deal in place for Fisch to stay in Tucson. He then went out of his way to throw NIL money at Wildcat players just so Fisch couldn't take them to Washington, including star quarterback Noah Fifita and receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Arizona also fired it's athletic director and according to Brett McMurphy, Dave Heeke was fired for "financial & operational mismanagement, resulting in an athletic department financial 'disaster,' loss of major donors & mishandling of former coach Jedd Fisch's contract." In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are in studio to breakdown the final Pac-12 college football game ever, Washington's 34-13 loss at the hands of Michigan in the national championship game. The Huskies had an opportunity to win their first national championship since 1991, but the Wolverines run game and defensive front were too much for Kalen DeBoer's squad that finishes the season an impressive 14-1 in only his second year at the helm. The guys breakdown what they saw from Monday night's game where UW was unable to generate the explosive plays that propelled them past Texas and into this title bout.  As usual Ryan and Dave end the podcast answering listener emails and questions from the YouTube chat. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions host Ryan Abraham is in studio with David Woods joining the stream remotely to recap the Alamo, Holiday and Sun Bowls and previewing the Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl., the first College Football Playoff appearance for the Pac-12 since 2016. The guys start off breaking down what was a depleted USC squad facing No. 15 Louisville in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Despite the limited roster numbers the Trojans came out inspired behind Miller Moss and his USC bowl record six touchdown passes en route to a 42-28 victory. Next up No. 14 Arizona had a monster matchup with No. 12 Oklahoma in the Alamo Bowl, one of the best games outside of the NY6 games. The Wildcats ran out to a 13-0 lead before the Sooners rattled off 28-straight. Arizona was able to capitalize on OU turnovers and finished strong for the 38-24 victory. Finally, No. 19 Oregon State faced No. 16 Notre Dame in the Sun Bowl on Friday morning in El Paso. Both teams suffered major roster opt-outs, but the Beavers were far more depleted including the majority of their coaching staff. This one wasn't much of a contest with ND cruising to a 40-8 victory. The guys then look ahead to the New Year's Day bowls with No. 8 Oregon facing No. 23 Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl and No. 2 Washington matching up with No. 3 Texas in the Sugar Bowl in the College Football Playoffs. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping the very last Pac-12 Championship Game where 10-point underdog Washington took care of business against Oregon, claiming the final Pac-12 Championship in history and securing the first College Football Playoff berth since 2016. The Huskies are the overall No. 2 seed and will face No. 3 Texas (and UW former head coach Steve Sarkisian) for a chance to advance to the national championship game. The guys also discuss where the rest of the conference of champions programs are heading for bowl season, the Pac-2 schools coming up with a scheduling agreement with the Mountain West, two Pac-12 Heisman finalists, some coordinator hires in the conference plus the opening of the NCAA Transfer Portal. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio previewing what should be an exciting end to the Pac-12 football conference, a championship game in Las Vegas between 12-0 No. 3 ranked Washington and 11-1 No. 5 ranked Oregon. The Huskies have been in some close games but they have come out on the right end each and every week, posting the first ever undefeated conference season in the Pac-12 era. The Ducks have been blowing teams out left and right after their midseason loss to UW and they have revenge on their mind. Both teams have Heisman Trophy candidates at quarterback with Washington's Michael Penix and Oregon's Bo Nix, and both programs have a College Football Playoff berth on the line, which would be the conference's first since 2016. In this episode of the Podcast of Champions hosts Ryan Abraham and David Woods are back in studio recapping the very last Pac-12 regular season football weekend, not just for the season but unfortunately forever. We knew Washington had locked up the No. 1 seed for the Pac-12 Championship game but we didn't know who the Huskies would face. Now we do thanks to Oregon's beatdown of Oregon State in what could be the final game formerly known as the Civil War for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile the Huskies kept their playoff hopes alive with a narrow win in the Apple Cup over Washington State (luckily, that game is set to continue for at least the next five years). Arizona still had a shot at a conference championship until the Ducks took care of business, but that did not deter the Wildcats who absolutely dominated ASU in the Territorial Cup. A beat up Utah squad survived an upset bit from a beat up Colorado squad, Cal came into the Rose Bowl and gave the UCLA administration more to think about when it comes to keeping Chip Kelly into the Big Ten era plus Stanford got embarrassed by Notre Dame on the very last Pac-12 Network football broadcast.
