In this somewhat jumbo episode, Metal reveals her Aristocatic origins while Scobb is ACAB: Assigned Chess At Birth. We don't go on any tangents. We just have a lot to say about Net Chess, aka Not Chess. Now grab your kibble and yarn, settle down on your favourite lap, and get ready for All That Ball!!
Lookit that, first episode of 2022, and it's up in February! Oops. To make up for the wait, we've got a very fun, very cute pair of episodes for you. First up is the debut of THE CUTMAN BROTHERS, voiced in the dub by Scott McNeil (x5). Next up is the introduction of another side character we quickly come to adore, a young "man" by the name of Whip! Along the way, Scobb oozes over cool paper animation while Metal fails to recognize key cultural references for Japan and America. We also have more mixed feelings about ShadowMan.EXE and get completely sidetracked talking about an entirely different anime.
After moving in to a new apartment and conquering a stomach flu, our adventure continues with the happiest and sweetest set of episodes that contain absolutely no dismemberment or heartbreak. Get spoopy movie recommendations, hear a quick spat about naming penguins, violate the Geneva Convention, find even more lust for Mr. Match, wonder why the editor used the Candyman theme, and more! Net City has many doors, Lan-boy.
Look at that, we're not dead! And this week, we're here to talk about two topics that totally belong in a kids' show: capitalism and ecoterrorism! Okay, at this point, maybe they aren't so out of place in this show. Along with these concepts, we get introduced to two new EXE iterations of classic Mega Man characters, Magnet Man--who's not to be messed with--and Quick Man, who is easily the most misused character in this whole goddamn series. Along the way, Metal will make a callback for the same genre of person as herself that watched Inuyasha at age 13 as well as the early Barbie movies, and Scobb will reveal that he can't whistle. At all.

It's fucking time, y'all. The best boy in the show is here, and now Scobb and Metal's spirits are finally awakened...but to what? To whom? You'll have to find out. This week, we're hit with a LOT of new things. New villains, new NetNavis, a new internet city that's shiny and chrome? All this and more, including, perhaps...a new ship.
Also--Metal is so sorry for forgetting your name, Jenca. She'll never forget again. We love you.

This week, we're finally reaching the end of Lan's journey around the world, and his last two stops are Kingland and Nameste. Really. Along the way, Scobb and Metal will learn to never underestimate the differences between the original and the dub releases of any episode. Our first episode plays out either as a story of tough love with a spooky twist or a Psycho situation, depending on what version you watch. Then we get to cringe at some good ol' early 00's anime racism.

Hello folks, so sorry for the delay on this one! A combination of life things getting in the way and balls being dropped made editing this episode get done pretty late, but we're back, and this week, we show just how good at podcasting we really are.
Join Metal and Scobb as they meet new characters on Lan's continuing journey across the globe. Behold as we get horny for Mr. Match and more, listen to Metal have her world shook by an interesting trivia fact about one of the most iconic animes of all time, and be confused as we try to figure out what the fuck countries are called in this stupid world.
Wondering what the hell we're alluding to at the end? SoundCloud won't let me cleverly tuck a link in these descriptions, so just take this:

Another week, another pair of episodes, but these ones are a little unique. These are the two episodes that were cut from the dub entirely, and today, we're gonna explore them to possibly find an answer why. Along the way, we'll learn some new things, like a tidbit on Japanese spirituality and the fact that RockMan.EXE actually predicted vocaloids. We'll also reaffirm some stuff we already know, mainly that Scobb and Metal are simps for anime characters.
This week, we're all Aki.

Welcome back, everybody, it's time to bring this next mini arc to a close! Yes, that's right, this week, we're going to take on the impossible mission of bringing back our boy AND saving the world from Pharaohman.EXE's grip. How will we do it? Well, it's gonna require some old Internet troubleshooting knowledge, a forgotten ship to be set afloat in Metal's heart, and the most important ingredient to every successful mission....Mom's spaghetti.

Hello dear listeners! We're so very sorry for the long wait, but Scobb and I had quite a lot of things get in our way. We explain in greater detail at the start of the episode. Never fear though, because we're back, just in time to deliver...anguish! Yeah, no this pair of eps is pretty darn sad. We'll finally finish this tournament arc, but it comes at a heavy price. Meanwhile, a new foe shall arise, and his story might sound...a little familiar.

What's more painful than a whipping from Empress? A pair of episodes centering on Chaud. This week, Metal and Scobb quick dissolve into rage and madness as they get overdosed with our unlikeable rich boy rival. It's worse for poor Lan, who's forced to work as a team with Chaud. As the two boys struggle to take down their last blockade to the N1's final match, we'll learn a little bit of netbattling math and that maybe not every tall ladder is a Snake Eater reference, you piece of shit Metal Gear fans!!

Hoooooo BOY, this is it, listeners. The episodes that have long since been hinted at are here, and you're gonna find out why they lived in such infamy in Metal's memory. This week, a new World Three plot will cause one of MegaMan.EXE's allies to turn against him, but not in a way anyone would have expected. This pair of episodes leave us with more questions than answers about some of our main characters. It's almost enough to distract dub viewers from the fact that they changed the main character's voice in the middle of a two-parter.
Join Metal and Scobb as they come to grips with what transpires and have a brief argument over who the better ojou-sama is between the two.

The good news is we're done dealing with Chaud for a bit, and instead, we're getting a healthy dose of Mesa to recover. Once again, he and Lan will team up against a surprising new pair of foes that will shake the world of NT Warrior to its core...except not really, because we're never going to stop and examine how their existence would change this setting. Instead, Metal and Scobb are left baffled as no one questions anything, and they're once again forced to create perplexing theories to make sense of the half-baked logic of this world. So, you know, it's another week in DenTech City.

Well folks, the time has come! This week, we finally get to have a full taste of Chaud and ProtoMan.EXE's characters. Spoiler alert: They're both bastards. But it's not enough just to leave it at that. No no no, if we're going to assess a Proto Man, we need an expert to help us. So this week, we feature our good buddy Dav, a veritable scholar on the subject of Proto Man, here to tell us why this iteration of him is sometimes considered quite lacking compared to other versions.
Along the way, he'll become reacquainted with the world of Battle Network, enthusiastically discussing all the ways it just plain doesn't make sense. Meanwhile, Metal will become unexpectedly angry with Chaud as he proves himself to be an enemy to the working class and a poor, poor imitation of Seto Kaiba.

Our tournament arc continues, this time with a more interesting pair of episodes, pitting the DenTech kids against two members of World Three. First up is a cat fight between Maylu and Maddie featuring tweaks to the script between the English and Japanese versions, proving that sometimes, dub changes...are better. Next is our evil crush Mr. Match and his boy TorchMan, returning with one purpose....defeat MegaMan. Both he and Maddie are aimed with a dirty trick of their sleeves, one being...way grander than the other.
How will our kids survive? Listen to find out the answer to that AND to learn one of Scobb's many secret, bizarre talents.

Bad news, gang, this time, we're really in the tournament arc. Okay, not quite. First, we start off with NumberMan.EXE on a rampage when Higsby's attempts to prepare him for the Grand Prix go awry. Now, he finally declares "Horny people have no rights!" for real this time. Next, Metal and Scobb struggle to stay interested when we get our first drawn-out battle of the tournament and quickly realize what a mistake they made when they said they'd watch and discuss every episode of this series.

On this week's pair of episodes, we start off with another episode starring Mr. Match, and this time, Scobb and Metal start to remember just what made them so attached to these characters when they first watched the show. After that, with the tournament arc closing in, we get to meet a couple few characters to add to our roster, two of which shall prove to be a hot topic of discussion later on. All this, plus Metal proving herself to be painfully heterosexual, and so much more!

This week, we get to meet another NetOp and NetNavi pair, with said NetNavi being IceMan.EXE, who has....a very interesting contrast of voices between the sub and the dub. Next up, we get another episode featuring our favorite catboy, ElecMan.EXE, as he helps his NetOp steal the smiles from children. What the hell does that mean exactly? Well, it might just explain the real reason Metal has been waiting so damn long on any update on Metroid Prime 4.

Another week, another pair of episodes! This time we get to meet Mr. Higsby, owner of the chip shop in the games, and his NetNavi NumberMan.EXE, who says children have no right to rare battle chips. In episode 5, we learn a lot more about our local fish monger, Mesa, including the fact that he's actually the other secret son of Jotaro Kujo.
