Another club day another good podcast. I'm learning a lot about club days. If you want to be part of something you really try harder. Today I got a bunch of boys that just wanted to talk about what's on their minds. I forgot what it was to be a young boy growing up. They definitely reminded me. It's been 9 seasons and my dream of starting a podcast at Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club is in full swing. We are now offering podcast as a club where members that really enjoy it can come together and enjoy it even more. Thanks to the directors that see the value in this.

Our teen program is up and growing. This year we started the teen program as soon as we got the green light. In this podcast we explore different ways we can make a little money as a teenager to help out themselves and their families. Special thanks to all the teens that signed up and came with a friend. I'm on a road trip to one of our other sites at PS. 138 where we have Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club After School. I spent over 3 hours speaking to our members and coming up with some podcast topics.
Today we have our guests from NYC Smoke Free and NYCHA at our clubhouse to speak to our teen members about the importance of not smoking and vaping. The panel then opens up for Q&A.

It's never too early to start planning for the future. These middle school students have a great chance to go to one of many specialty high schools just by taking a placement test. Getting into one of NYC's specialty high schools can boost the chances of going to college.
